Howdy there good ol fellers,
Is it possible to consolidate, routes/layouts, from Trs 04 and 06 into TRS 2010? And if so, could any of you direct me to a turtorial to do so, as a bunch of this is rather greek to me and I love Trainz.

I know this has been discussed before, my apoligies but seems to me, that info seemed like it was scattered all over the place and the ones I've read in the past, either went on to a different subject, or the posts died off. I'm not worried about the rest I have just 06 and 04. Or maybe even one, if thats possible.

Much obliged in advanced for y'alls help, for this old dummie LOL

Doug,

It's not as bad as you think to consolidate your content in a later version of Trainz from TRS2004.

Open up TS2010 CMP and choose File and then Import Content...

Browse for your downloaded content in the TRS2004 folder. If I recall, it's in the World/Dispatcher Downloads folder. It's been some time since I used TRS2004, so I maybe mistaken about this.

Anyway, once the folder is found, click OK and the content will be imported.

Depending upon how much stuff you have this process can take some time. When it is finished, you may have to commit the content to the TRS2010 asset database.

Go to the Open for Edit tab in CMP.

Hightlight the first item in the list and press CTRL+A at the same time. This will select all the items.

Once they're highlighted, press CTRL+M to coMmit the data to the database. This process can take some time too, so I recommend starting this and going off to do something else.

When importing this older content, you may receive some messages about some content already existing in the program. Choose Skip All to skip over these items since they are already included with TS2010 now.

Hope this helps.

Hey John,
Sorry it took so long to get back, as we had a lot of storms moving through our area and we finally got the power turned back on.

Ok I did what you told me to do and there was a problem I reckon. As far as I could tell, there was only a couple pieces of content that 2010 downloaded, from 2004. Then after that, it won't let me commit, no how no way. If possible, could you maybe direct me to some tutorials, or other threads for approaching this. And also, how about getting 2006 into 2010? Maybe that would be easier than 04. I'm not really worried much about 2004 but would like to combine 06 into 10.

Appriciate it again and thanks for the paitence.
