TRS 2006 Paintshed Won't Work

Potatoes
I've received Trainz 2006 for my birthday and I've tried to use Paintshed but it says ' No Language was specified, use Lang US':'(.
Could somebody help me?

Clicking on the Paintshed Icon dosen't work you have to go through CMP. Click on the button in the upper left hand corner in CMP. This is for a new asset. Pick paintshed skin and that will get you started.

You need to remember what you named the files, they should still be open Click on the open for edit tab, they should be there. Another thing to try is look for the paint shed kuids in CMP. Once you find the want you want to paint-right click and pick edit with paint shed.

Again this question needs a dirrect answer. How and where do you type in -lang=US

If Paintshed does not work, and wont start up from the CMP or anywhere else...
How can the error notice be fixed so that it doesn't display: no language specified...use -lang=US

It will start up from the CMP but is a frozen blue screen with 4 icons that do not respond to clicking on them

No it doesn't. You've already had a direct answer, in this thread and in about 100 others. For the hard of understanding: don't start PaintShed by clicking on it's *.exe file, start it via CMP, and the best thing is not to use it at all - it's useless.

I have read every Paintshed thread in the entire forum, I have researched all the Paintshed threads, as all TRS2006 users are having this error notice show up...and only get a frozen blue screen with 4 non-funtional icons.
IT WILL NOT START IN CMP
I'M SHOUTING TO THE DEAF AND DUMB who can't read !
It is a FROZEN BLUE SCREEN With 4 Icons That DO NOT Click
CMP DOESN'T OPEN Paintshed
Nor does CMP-"EDIT-NEW PAINTSHED ASSET"
It will not work without the specify -lang=US

Where do you type in -lang=US ?

The only way I got it to work was to download Paintshed2004 from Gaurc site and install that version in TRS2006
When I install Paintshed 2004 from the Guarc site, the desktop icon opens it.

Evedendently You do not have a dirrect answer to: Where do you enter in the line "-lang=US"

If I wanted to know how to jumpstart Paintshed by using the CMP, I would have tried that.
And I tried it and it FAILS. GET IT, now ??? Catch my drift ??? READ ! Are you dense ?
But your "half asked" solution is gerry-rigged and does not function.

Where do you enter in the line "-lang=US"

That is simply not true. Mine works perfectly well when opened as described using the tab in CMP. I am using XPPro, maybe this is some Win7 issue.

No it is a Vista OS that I'm using...I originally had this installation problem with the -lang=US.
The built in TRS2006 Paintshed version fails to launch ?
But when you replace it with the TRS2004 Paintshed software download from Gaurc site that version works in TRS2006, why ?

And don't gimmie that :p Vista OS :p speel...it has run TRS2006 and the CMP almost perfectly for me, for many years .

So where does the line: -lang=US get typed into... in order to get TRS2006 Paintshed working ?

Well I have just about figured TRS2006 Paintshed out...why the -lang=US will not let it work.

It seems that either Vista and possibly Windows 7 might be some of the cause...I dunno about that.

But I downloaded the TRS2004 Paintshed from Gaurc Software download site, and I compared the two programs, files. The TRS2006 Application exe must be flawed...as when I deleted the TRS2006 Paintshed Application exe, and copy and pasted the TRS2004 Paintshed Application exe into the TRS2006 Paintshed file, along with all the other trs2004 Paintshed files, and the many foriegn lang files...TRS2006 Paintshed works, running on the TRS2004 Paintshed exe.

It works from a desktop shortcut icon that I copied from the TRS2006/bin...and it also works from the CMP-"Edit-Create New Paintshed Asset" tab.

So if Paintshed is giving you the -lang=US error notice...copy and paste the TRS2004 Paintshed file into the TRS2006 Paintshed file. You can get the TRS2004 Paintshed from Gaurc Software site http://www.gaurc.us/index_files/software.htm. Place it in your Auran/TRS2006/bin/TPS file.

Now everyone can enjoy the bliss of TRS04/06 Paintshed :p It's such a gem in the rough !

Feel free to PM me if you need details on how to get it running. But if I can doooooo it...Annnnyone can !

But if you have 09/10...Paintshed will not create in those versions...how ever, 04/06 paintshed assets created in 04/06, can be transferred over and imported into 09/10.

Has it not been covered time and time again that Paintshed is outdated and no longer supported anyway?

Paintshed only gets you so far as it is, in fact I thought it was a farce.

The problem with paintshed 2006 is not a language problem. I am running vista 64, and I can open it up perfectly through cmp. I can edit the asset perfectly. It saves with no error message, and there is never any "blue screen". However, if it actually saved.....It "IS NOT" anywhere in the database, and does not show up in any searches. When installing TRS2006, it says you have to have .framework 2.0 For what? the program runs fine? therefore it must be for saving files edited in paintshed. However, when I try to install it off the disc...it says it is already installed. I too, have searched the "Forums(?)' for answers, but it seems that either nobody knows, or nobody gives a damn.
