Trs 2006 paint shed Error

Unfortunately, I do not seem to see the error message.

The most likely one is related to the lang=en-us switch - the solution for this is to install TRS2004 Paintshed (unfortunately, I have not been able to find a link for it)

Shane

EDIT: Found the link - you can find the TRS2004 paintshed at http://www.gaurc.us/index_files/software.htm.

You need to run the 50ComUpd.exe file off your TRS2006 installation disc(s)

If you have the 5CD version, it's on CD5.

If you have the DVD version, it should be in the install folder on the DVD..

OK, I need to check that you are running Trainz as admin.

Also, I need to check what your build number is (bottom-right of main menu screen)

Shane

OK - download the TRS2004 Paintshed file from the website given above, and copy the Paintshed files into the TRS2006 Bin folder.

Shane, everytime I go to that Gaurc site, the text is all printed on top of itself & impossible to read, is this because I use Firefox, or is it some other reason ?

I have Paintshed, but if I ever need to download it again, it would be handy to be able to read Gaurc's pages.

Have you tried using the download mentioned above for the TRS2004 version?

If you have, the fix is potentially risky - it involves replacing a system file.

If you are sure you want to go ahead, instructions are at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/comdlg32.htm.

Before you do though, if the file is present, try running the following command in the run box:

regsvr32 c:/windows/system32/comdlg32.ocx

or

regsvr32 C:/windows/syswow64/comdlg32.ocx

You should get a confirmation message when it has registered the file.

EDIT: As you are running Windows 7, you need to do things slightly differently with the command(s) above:

1.Type 'command prompt' into the Start menu
2.When it appears, right-click it and click Run as administrator.

Is that after following both sets of instructions? I have a feeling that one of your system files may have a problem (comdlg32.ocx).

I need to double-check a few operating system related things.

Firstly, is your system 32-bit or 64-bit?

Secondly, what build is your version of TRS2006? It may require a patch.

Shane

EDIT: Just checked my TRS2006 folder - check for comdlg32.ocx in the bin folder.
