Trouble using Download Helper

Hi,
I have been trying to download a loco from the DLS but when I start the Download Helper, it only comes up with the following message "Idle". This is happening every time I use it now as I do not know how to use the download page.

Also I have downloaded two trains from the download page and they are both just blue for the icon, and when I view it from the railyard or insert it into my route, it only shows the name and nothing else, no model, no description, nothing.

I hope anybody can help me.

If so run "C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\Bin\TrainzHelper.exe" and check that the 'path' entry is correct. Click on 'Log In Details' and make sure that your username and password are correct - type them in yourself, don't let Windows auto-fill. Save, exit and try DLH again.

sorry but i have tried it 3 times over and it still stops working, displaying the message "idle". i have tried everything

Try deleting the file C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\Cache\world_cache_dispatcher.chump then restart Trainz to let it rebuild, there is a chance it is corrupt. Also worth double checking in World\dispatcher\downloads that you don't already have the file(s) you are trying to download...

@ Deelare - "Download Helper" was a bit of a hint. In later versions most folks would refer to a problem with CMP/CM2...

i have tried it using windows vista and it works perfectly.

It has been so long that I used 04 , I simply could not understand how you knew ? Thanks for the info , I will try to remember this in the future .

This has happened to me as well, but in my case I discovered that things were not added to the dl helper because they were already installed - not sure if that is your case, but double check that you are not trying to dl something that you already have installed - the helper wont even allow you to put it in the list.

If you have used vista then it is already downloaded or is this a different computer? As you are using 04 get Trainz Objects to check it out for you it may be missing dependencies or some dependencies may have been updated and may have a newer build number so 04 sees it as missing. Click download page click on download FTP. A window will open asking where you want to save the CDP. After it has downloaded open the folder and just click on the CDP icon, a window will open click on YES and a second window opens click on extract, that it , it will be placed in the download folder for use.

Hi, I just downloaded 2012 for my enjoyment. I waited the ten minutes and nothing happen. Am I too anxious or is there more for me to do. I checked with my pc and it says "can't connect with this link". I have "vista"pc.
