Trouble re-installing TS12

Hi out there in Trainzland.


TS12 is driving me nuts! I am a long time user of Trainz and have never before had a run of


problems with the program.


Several weeks ago I had to reinstall TS12 after applying patch 49922 to 61388 with the


result that I could no longer use iPortals. Having referred this problem to the forum I


finally reinstalled 49922 and updated it to 61388 without installing Settle & Carlisle and


Murchinson (I believed that one of these could have been the cause) and I managed to use


iPortals again!


Now following a recent crash I have had to re-install TS12 again (which takes a hell of a

long time): -


Install program - 49922 works ok! update to 61388 and the start menu shows only two options


"Rail Yard" and "Saved Sessions" After running a full data base repair there was still no


change.


I then re-installed 49922 again, re-downloading the patch, just in case my copy was


corrupt, with the same result as before.


I am begining to think that I should never have installed beyond 49922 as I currently dare


not use my murchinson or S&C in 61388 (if it was working)and I have wasted several weeks


trying to get back to routes that I wanted to work on!


I need a good way to back up Trainz if I ever get it working and stop this happening again.


All ideas of where to go next will be much appreciated.

Hi Bill,

Don't get fed up just yet...

It sounds like your install stuffed up.

Try running an EDR and see what happens. You can do that from Content Manager.

To tell you the truth, I've been somewhat fed up with this mess too, but when TS12 6138 runs, it runs well enough to please.
