Trash trains

Hi;
I downloaded the JR trash flatcars and the trash containers, but have no way of loading/unloading them. Anyone know what industry I am supposed to use for these?

Thanks

Send em' to NY City, and they will fill them up with absolutely fettid, many weeks old, stinking rotten garbage ... then send em' down somewhere in the US South, where they are dumping all that NYC trash, in huge landfills, poluting their drinking water aquafiers.

OMG do they stink ... so badly !

Yep; Those trains from NYC pass right through my town on CSX River sub. Can surely smell 'em, especially on hot days, and when they have to stop in town.
Unfortunately, I do a lot of running at a park next to the track, so I get to smell a lot of trash.

Curious though; if the trains heading south from Selkirk are coming from NYC, then where are the ones heading north coming from/going to?
Could they be taking trash from NJ up to NY? Or maybe just empties returning to re-load.

Honestly though; I would rather have the trash going through town on the rails than on the already overcrowded highways where trucks have a bad habit of flipping over, leaving the highway full of stinking garbage, and closed for hours.

Now, on the other end of the smell scale, I LOVE lumber trains. But now, most of the lumber is wrapped in plastic, so I don't get to smell it.

Try this if you can't find a completed industry

The multiple industry new can handle "garbage bulk" I could not find Trash Container on the list, nor did I see it on the DLS. But if you downloaded Trash Container commodity, see if it has been added to the list of commodities that multiple industry - new can handle.

You will of course have to build your own infrastructure at both the shipping and receiving end out of whatever you can find that looks realistic.

Thanks guys;
I think I might be able to make it work. Even if the multiple industry-new cannot handle the trash containers, I should be able to add them to the list using CC, or just editing the config.txt file.

I'm not sure how realistic I want to get with trash. I don't really care if the containers actually contain trash, just that they get put on and taken off the flatcars.
I can probably build a decent looking industry with what we have on DLS. This isn't a prototype route anyway.

JR have an instant load command that works very well for there container flats, you could try that for size.

I'm going to look into doing some sort of loading track or something for these. No guarentees though!

Id almost have to do a seperate one for each type of trash container unless you want all kinds of mixed containers on a train.

We have the cars setup only to load the containers that are proto to that flat or spine car, so a diff track would be needed for different car types to do it right.

From my understanding, that is mainly used for portal trains, and can be used as soon as a train leaves the portal, or at the industry - be aware though,that if it is done at the industry, script errors may happen.

Insert it where you want in the commands, the same with instant unload. It will work when the consist is moving, just causes a slight slowing of it.
I have enabled both InstantLoad and InstantUnload, as well as Instantload_09 in my session, but when I run the session, I don't see those commands, nor do I see a lot of the other commands I have enabled.

Is it possible that some of the commands do not work in TS12?
But I think it's more likely I am doing something wrong here.

Go to edit session in surveyor, driver commands, then select add. Find the ones you want and select. This will make the additional commands available but you still have to tick the box.
Instant load 09 for JR's container carriers and centrebeams, plain instant load for anything else. Instant unload applies to all.

I've got it. Thanks.
I don't know what I was doing wrong the first time; thought I had done everything you told me.
