transferring assests one comp to another

I have been simply copying folders from the TS2010 local cache folder on my laptop to my desktop, or the other way round, in order to keep my two computers the same. For example, if I populate a session with consists and want that same session on the other computer.

Is there a better way to do such transfer?

One way would be to convert them to CDP's in content manager on computer "A" and then import them in CM on computer "B". I do this with TS2006.

Good Luck, tomurban

oh, I was thinking that would automatically make them available to everyone everywhere, needlessly. If it doesn't, then that would certainly be a better way.

Saving a CDP file isn't the same as uploading to the DLS. One potential problem with saving stuff to CDP files is that you need to make sure you include all the dependencies. And an item that is a dependency of one item might have it's own dependencies so you need to check every item for dependencies. (If you just have TS2010 and have not bought add-ons from Auran like Settle & Carlisle you can skip any built-in items. If one computer has an addon, and the other doesn't, then it's possible you might find some missing dependencies if an item uses something from the add-on. Add-on assets from official add-ons will show up as built-in items in Content Manager.)

Also keep in mind that Routes/Sessions made in TS2010 won't show Driver Commands in the View Dependencies list, (a bug that hopefully has been reported) so if you use any non-built-in commands you'll need to remember to copy them over too.
