TransDem Created Route - No Tracks After Import

I'm kinda new to route development, so please be patient. I used TransDem to create a route. I imported DEM, basemaps, and rail splines to Trainz Surveyor. When I open up Surveyor and load up the route, the tracks show as simply dashed white lines. What's this mean? Perhaps during import I used an inappropriate rail asset? If so, how can I replace this missing (improper) rail in my entire route? (ie replace tool?). Is there any rule of thumb to selecting an asset to ensure it's compatible, appropriate?

Before going too far, it's probably easier to just redo the export from TransDEM. Be sure to pick a track that exists in your in installation of Trainz

Thank you @martinvk for your suggestion. That is likely the easiest solution, however, I thought I chose a track that I had installed with Trainz as it was in content manager. But, there are dozens to choose from ... how do I know which one to select (if there are any pros and cons to consider)

It doesn't really matter which one you pick, as long as it is available in the version you are importing into. Once in Trainz it is a simple process to replace some or all of the track for another one.

I had a problem like that way back in TANE. Details are hazy, but I'm sure I cloned a track and gave it the KUID of the missing track, called it MissingTrack, and then drag/dropped it back into CM. This way, once you re-entered the route, the white lines are gone (replaced by the other track), and then you could use the Replace Track function to change the current track to something you have. I'm pretty sure I used Auran's Wooden Toy Track, which made the track very apparent on your route.

That's one-way to do it.

Here's another I got this from James Moody way back in TS12 days.

The dashed white lines isn't "a missing asset" - it's the asset that Trainz turns to when it can't find the asset it is supposed to draw there. These white lines are, in themselves, an asset. You can find this asset in CM. It's called "Missing spline", and it's by Rob.
Open it for edit.
Change the KUID from <kuid:523:1124> to <kuid2:523:1124:1>, and remove the whole privileges container (containing the line "permit-listing 0")

Then install that asset as if it were a new asset - e.g. drag the folder from windows explorer back onto the CM interface.
Once it's installed, revert the original one (you can't commit changes to it as it's a built-in asset).

Result: The dashed white lines now show up in the menu, and can be selected just like any other track spline. You could lay some down if you wanted. More to the point, you can now use the 'replace items' tool to change them to any track spline you have installed...

I will add this. When you install the folder, use the install content option. This will save so much time. Also don't panic when the creator is shown as AURAN. I hope this helps someone.

Notes:

<kuid2:523:1124:1> ==== Update from <kuid2:523:1124:2> to <kuid2:523:1124:3> for T:ANE and up unless the assets have been updated since. All other procedures apply.

I was having trouble coming up with "spline" too.
John's/Rob's method worked great for me when I finally got around to it. Thanks!
Also, Transdem will let you add track assets to its list. Go into the Trainz Content Manager to get the name and kuid of the track you want to add. Then go back to Transdem and add that info to the list of tracks available.
As pointed out, it needs to be available in the version of trainz you are exporting the Transdem route into.
I don't export directly into Trainz. Instead I have a Transdem exports folder on my hard drive and I use Trainz Content Manager to import the content files.
I usually try importing into TS12 first for working on tracks. But the larger imports need to use either Tane or TS19.

I'm glad I could help. I saved that information after I saw it in the blogs many years ago that was been helpful since.

I've used .kmz files a few times with TransDEM. This is really useful, but like a lot of things I forget about them and go through the manual process instead.
