Trams again?

Hi all,

The trams are now on the DLS and have been downloaded a few times already.

I plan to do some more over the Easter break (two weeks time), numbering 5 - 13. As usual, special requests are welcome but may take time to complete. I would welcome adverts to place on the sides of the trams as well - I want to use ficticious companies to avoid any licensing complications. I plan to do something like "Jones Newsagents" and "Westhaven Garages" type ads, which are un-patentably generic.

Also, after a few days can I have some running feedback for these - what could I improve?

Many thanks again to Silversmith for allowing me to do these. :)

Excellent! I downloaded them last night, and I'm going to have a look now...

For adverts, have a look round the route, there are a few custom named businesses who might advertise on the side of a tram. Perhaps an ad or two for the local pubs...

Well, the coursework spilled over into my Easter break (:() so not much work has been done on the Westhaven series, or the Crich series, but I've corrected the typoes in the description of Westhaven number 4, and also uploaded another open topper (guess what - it's number 5) with adverts relevant to the route.

Almost ready for release is another open-top tram on which I've been experimenting with Brill bogies (unfortunately they're slightly too long, but I might release it anyway), and also a repaint of a Glasgow tramcar. I originally wasn't happy with the look of this skin, but after a quick play in Driver I'm now happy and will release it after I've finished vandalising the config.

Now on TRAMTRAINZ.net

More Czech tram Skoda LTM 10.08 ASTRA
(Is It only Betatest, comming soon be full version, with DestSignTable and running number)

You Are Welcome...

Just to let you all know that I'm working on some various road markings for modern UK trams and/or buses. They are all re-skins of (Stephen) Brook's setted splines, so many thanks to him for permission to do this. So far I have red asphalt splines in various widths, and a selection of lettering. The thumbnails below should be worth a thousand words...

Let me know what you think... if they are any use, I'll upload them fairly soon, otherwise they will come out with the route.

I like the look of them, and can think of a few uses on my own tramway layout (still in early development and not as extensive as Westhaven).

Whose are the tramway signals in the third image? I have a use for them too :)

(apologies for quoted thumb)

OK - look out for this thumbnail sometime next week...

The asphalt splines are designed to sit between baseboard level, and the railhead of Andi06's track. The text will sit between the asphalt and the railhead. As they are all splines, stretching and positioning on slopes should be no problem. It also gives much more flexibility when sorting height out. These are all re-skins of Stphen Brooks excellent setted splines - many thanks to him for allowing me to upload these!

I'm also working on some give way lines, and the triangle that goes with them. I am also intending to do box junctions, and possibly the road centre hatched areas. Double yellow lines may also be forthcoming... I can also do more text if requested.

Thanks for those. French GCSE came in handy there

My layout has just had a quick re-fit, though there are still a few 2-aspect colour lights around the tracks. I'm looking forward to these new splines.

I've finished two of three courseworks, so I may get some more Westhaven skins out - I think there are enough for an off-peak session now, if I finish/upload the latest. However - the exams now are just two weeks away

, so my priorities are there at the moment.

Some more developments:

To go with my forthcoming road markings, some give way lines...

I'm also working on the single dotted line for the other side of the road, and I've had a go at zig-zags for zebra crossings, and box junctions - i just haven't tried them in Trainz yet.

And also, to complement my growing range of branded items for the Bridgehampton Metro route, a bus stop - (partially) reskinned from Shove's work:

Most of these items do not include the Bridgehampton name, so they could be used anywhere that a fictional Metro branding is required.

OK, so I haven't uploaded yet...

But I have been busy... the range has expanded even more - I'd just like to get some feedback before I upload:

Firstly some more words:

And the combinations you can now make...

Give way lines and triangles, and zebra crossing zig-zags (pavements and actual crossing by Andi06):

The Bridgehampton Branded items so far (I don't intend to upload these before the route unless I'm asked):

And a bit of blatant cross-promotion (thanks to Spooney's billboard mesh):

A couple of tweaks and check required, then I'll be ready...

Paul

Just uploaded the road markings. They should be available tomorrow or Monday...

p.s. They're available now...

Search for my user name or "road markings". They are for Trainz v1.3, so make sure you have that checked.

On another note, if anyone has any special requests for other wording, I might see if I can oblige...
