As far as I know, Trainzmap Viewer is only compatible with versions prior to and including TRS 2006. It worked on some layouts in TS 2009 for me, but not all, and it works on none in TS 2010.
The on-screen map is of limited usefulness while in the game, but I like to have a printed copy available for reference both in-game and out of game. The Print Screen feature for the map is basically useless for me due to the colors chosen by Auran for the map. Not enough contrast, and the background color is not very eye-friendly in printed form. And in my opinion, a printed map for Trainz should have only the track schematic, with options for other information to be printed at the user's discretion.
