TrainzDev finally gone?

We knew it was coming, but just wanted to make sure it's not just me being redirected to Auran.com.

Anyone have the new location for the Trainz Wiki.
I'm sure I updated to the newer link a while ago, but it doesn't work now.

BTW, this entry for Trainz on wikipedia made me laugh:

Well, that's the Wiki link I already had, but it just brings up a blank page for me now.

Maybe they're moving it.

Probably, the DLS was/is 'down for maintenance' so I imagine they're moving servers around today.

The old trainzdev wiki that I thought you were referring to was the www.trainzdev.com one, but that just shows the auran.com homepage now :)

Could this just be due to the "extended" server outage, which is also hitting the DLS?

Most likely.

The various sites (dls, forums, ts2009, ts2010, trainzdev.com, auran.com, etc etc etc) probably all run off one vhost'ed apache instance, and they're probably migrating the vhost setups one-by-one.

I will look at this in the morning, our priority today was working on the main Webserver, database and DLS.

If it helps, it's giving an error:

(Can't contact the database server: Access denied for user 'spyro'@'174.121.103.218' (using password: YES) (206.188.2.190))

Looks like the mediaWiki database didn't get setup/copied properly.

Edit: Thinking about it more, most likely you used hardcoded IP logins, rather than wildcard'ed logins, for your mysql permissions and the new webservers have new IPs, thus can't connect with the old user/password pair... just needs a new GRANT to be issued on that database :)

You mean the TrainzDev hasn't bit the big one yet?
Aww, go on.
You may as well pull the plug on it while you're there. :)

You don't know what you've got until it's gone! For me anyway, I've been wanting to browse the TrainzDev wiki all day. Needing some content creation guidance badly!

I use trainz dev for my screenshots, so I can add them to the screenshots posts in the forum, that is the reason all of my screenshots have dissappeared from the screenshots forums, hopefully they will return one day soon...

The message I had was the the site was down for maintenance, so don't give up yet.
Yeah, that's what I get now.

Could it be that they've had a rethink on the usefulness of TrainzDev, and are going to keep it, and use it for all subsequent versions of Trainz?

My suggestion would be only if they give it the attention it needs regularly.
Otherwise pull the plug and open a sub-forum over here.

No; it's just being moved to the new servers like all of our other web services.

I still get the idea that lots of people here are getting very confused over each time someone says 'trainzdev' whether it is referring to

1) http://www.trainzdev.com

2) http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/TrainzDev_Wiki

As I understand it, when Auran refers to 'closing trainzdev', they mean the forums and wiki on (1).

The new trainzdev wiki on (2) will continue, and will be part of the 'online.ts2009.com' site that is integrated with ts2009/ts2010 and will remain so going forward (although I'd recommend aliasing it and referring to online.trainz.net in future releases - I was going to suggest trainz.com, but I think the chances of auran acquiring that domain are slim)

I imagine some sub-forum here will serve as a replacement for the trainzdev.com forums - the 'content creators' subforum already here is probably adequate, although it'd be nice to have subforums below that for scripting, modelling, textures, etc specific issues, perhaps.

Link#2 is not working for me.
