Trainz12 and TANE:CE ? shared files

Having some trouble with Trainz12 after uninstalling TANE:CE - do these programs share files or file locations?

Trainz12 was working fine before and during the time I had TANE:CE loaded but I found the latter to be - shall I say - not very good, so I removed it. Now whenever I try and start Trainz12 it goes through the Asset Database Repair which takes anything up to half an hour and then refuses to go any further.

If it gets to the routes page that loads OK but without the routes listed, so making it impossible to actually get into a route; but usually it doesn't do anything after the Asset Database repair has run and just refuses to go any further.

As this has started immediately after uninstalling TANE:CE I am guessing that TANE took someshared file and that is stopping Trainz12 from starting properly.

I would reinstall Trainz12 but that would mean having the reload all the thousands of assets that I had previously downloaded.

Anyone else had this problem of have any ideas?

Thanks in advance Richard

Hi Richard,

The problem maybe coincidental. I have installed and uninstalled TANE CE 1.x including the previous beta versions without issues a couple of times now. The DLS and validation server is currently having fits. This will cause a massive validation to occur, which will in turn cause routes not to display because Trainz is busy validating assets. Hold off on doing anything until things come back to normal.

Many thanks for that John I hadn't realised that Trainz would be connected to the server in normal use, but I guess that it does the connection in the background so we are unaware that it happens. Will try again tomorrow and see if I have better luck!

Richard
