trainz won't start, stuck on updating asset base

I just downloaded trainz 2010 from amazon, got it installed on my laptop and when I go to start it, it says updating asset database and it just sits there, what do I need to do, it says build 43361 in the corner of the screen

First thing you probably need to do is just wait! It could take 5 mins or so. Would suggest go and have a coke/coffee/tea/beer depending your taste and, if, after that, it is still updating.......... get back on here.

Updates and SP's will take a day and possibly overnight ... interrupt it and cancel it, and you will have corrupted your Trainz installaton.

It may seem that the PC is doing nothing ... but in fact it is silently processing a multitude of Trainz Data.

It could take a couple of hours (or more), depending on your system.
