I downloaded the Denver & Rio Grande Western USRA 2-8-8-2 Mallet and there both on my sim, but the engine wont appear, only the tender

The download either:

Missing dependencies

or has errors,

or both.

Missing dependencies are easy to locate and download ... and errors are very easy to correct.

heres the problem!

the names of the material needed are:
USRA cabin
4501 whistle[DLS]
and the rest should come from the USRA light 2-8-2 mikado that is also on the site that you picked up the D&RGW 2-8-8-2 from!
