Trainz, why you no love us anymore.

As a dedicated android user me and quite a few others have been wondering, will there be anymore editions to the mobile platform. As you have done with the iOS platform.

I would be very surprised if there were no more editions for Android, as it has overtaken iOS as the most popular mobile platform. From what N3V have said in the past, the mobile versions of Trainz have been a major source of their income. I suspect that other issues, such as fixing the many problems in T:ANE, are occupying them at the moment. When these are resolved you will most likely see new releases for Android.

It would be interesting to learn what size Android screens people are using to run Trainz as I have a 7" tablet and while driving installed routes works fine attempting to use Surveyor is not so easy. Peter

Hi everybody.
I have a Sony Z4 10 inch screen size tablet that I use for gaming and the Android version of Trainz. The screen size is adequate when on the move, but when at home I have a Chromecast connected to my 21 inch monitor and therefore I wirelessly cast Trainz screen and sound to that which makes for a more comfortable use especially when working in surveyor. In the foregoing a full-size Bluetooth keyboard and mouse can be used in conjunction with the touch screen of the tablet.

The Android version of Trainz now looks very dated, but I believe it was stated by the N3V following the release of the current version over 3 years ago that Android users where person's who wished for nothing else other than “something for nothing”. To be fair I did not actually see the comment, but it was widely reported on the forum at the time.

The above is probably the reason why a new version has not been produced, but there is no shortage of excellent games available on the Android platform where other software producers regularly get a share of the money I have saved by not buying T:ane.

N3v is to busy making bad games to pay attention to us mobile users. Like I said in another post earlier. The future of trainz is dark indeed.

Nah its cus mobile is garbage. Mobile was only made to make a quick buck and to have something to do when not at home. Dont ever expect trainz mobile to be like the pc or mac versions. Mobile shouldnt even be a thing.

Although I agree, I still feel that N3V should add at least the berk set.

N3v are busy working their butts off, trying to get the PC version of T:ane running as it should, for the MAJORITY of their users.
You will find throughout life, that the minorities have to wait their turn behind the majority.

I would have agreed with you, except the mobile users have been waiting since 2012, while T:ane went into production in 2013. they had pleanty of time to port over more steam engines, or more diesels. we just have 3 steamers on mobile; the USRA unlettered 4-8-2, the Union Pacific 4000 class 'big boy' 4-8-8-4, and the CNJ G3s 4-6-2.

The Android version was developed independently from N3Vs developers under license if I recall. It's up to this third-party group to update their product and it appears they haven't bothered. At this point being as long as it has been, I would consider it a dead product line.
