Trainz videos

cool Enzo1. i like to see the effort. nice work. also, what trainz do you have. im always looking for missing dependencies for gp 38's

Thanks, I have Trainz 2010, and 2006 and 2004 (i forgot about 2004 lol). but i use trainz 2010 for all of my videos.

HOW DO YOU DO THEM ENZO?

Great work Enzo:) but how did you do these... I see in Trainz TRS 12 there is a provision in there for 'In Trainz Video' is this used, and how do you go about it? does this feature of TRS actually capture footage?

I have been to UTUBE, and seen a few of them and though they look rather hesitant and somewhat jerky in their motioin... I have been lamenting the discontinuation of the S Video output on the laptops and most computers now, and I used to be able to take a cable from 'a computer' beit laptop or desktop, with the S Video connection on one end, and the RCA's on the other to a DVD recorder and do my own DVD's, but that is no longer possible, because while you now have the current HDMI, (the little slim one) you can only take that to your widescreen LCD/LED/Plasma TV, but these TV's don't have 'TV Out' on them, and the only direction you can send your HDMI signal to or from a HD DVD recorder, is out...

I have tried taking a USB into a DVD recorder from a laptop... again Soooorrry!... that daint work... So these manufacturers have really made it damn right impossible for anyone to DVD their train play, quite....deliberately....

What I used to do then was take the DVD's that I had done out of the DVD... put them into my computer DVD drive, bring the VOB etc files into a program like Cyberlink and edit all the mistakes out of what I had done, add titling and comments like 'QR 2100 is about to shunt'... and when I was happy with what I was about to burn, off I go!... and I ended up with a fully edited DVD, of the very best I had done on say three or four native DVD's (that is of the original train play, and I had something really worth watching....

Unfortunately I no longer have that fullly edited DVD, and I did that some four or five years ago now, but seeing what you have done on U Tube... that prompted me to find out from you how you did this...

The main problem here is that when we edit mpeg. video, we are going to end up with some rather jerky and hesitant movement of trains...

How long is that long train?... I have seen it, and it must be two Km's or more long in Aus Metric standards... The US must be a great place to stand by a railway track with a video camera and see these huge Dash 9's, SD 40's and DD 40's etc.... with one hell of a long consist... I must get and watch some more of these U Tube videos of yours:udrool: :D

Actually, I use bandicam, which is a free cam corder for your computer (With the free version, you can only record 10 minutes of video) Go to yahoo, type in Bandicam download and go to there main site, download, install and enjoy. To record using bandicam, press the f12 key AFTER entering trainz, to pause press the F8 key, to stop recording press F12 key again. FYI: All of my videos are in trainz 2010, and that train was somwhere around 2.5 miles long. Thanks!

Thanks for mentioning that Enzo1. 1st time I've heard of Bandicam though after a quick search I see now it's been discussed 2 times before on the forums here. Looks like it's worth a try. Free fraps version that I use only allows I think 30 secs of rec time.

A lot of upload effort there. 8-) I run only steam locos myself from an earlier era. But to each his own.

Thanks again,
Bob Pearson
