Trainz Surveyor is crashing

I'm building a normal track in a default scenario, with nothing fancy in it then just standard scripts and nothing is extra downloaded from the download manager.
It has a few street crossings about 6 with 8 invisible stations, the map is getting larger (perhaps 10km of track) and its crashing now.
I have seen a few script exceptions, but most of the time when i see that red bug bottom right of the screen, my computer screen freezes
Only a few things are textured now, also i'm noticing its getting slower then it used to be. when laying extra pieces of track there can be allot of visual lag in the track, and only when laying track the rest has no lag at all.

Is there anything i could do without loosing my map ?
its been allot of work now, almost about 30 hours, and it would almost kill me if i had to delete that, since its a replica of my local town here.
Also i'm getting errors when starting trainz, a cmd prompts up with some errors in it prior to getting the launch screen!
It states:http://s1150.photobucket.com/albums/o616/rowakkers/?action=view&current=error-1.jpg

Thx in advance for anyone trying to help me out !

Hi rowakkers,

Welcome to the forums.

The cmd window is normal as Trainz has it's own background command-line processes.

We could do with knowing what your computer specifications are as well. I have a utility called the PC Information Application available if needed, which can get the required information.

The red bug indicates that you are using content that is faulty - this may need to be checked.

Shane

P.S. I've noticed two other things:

1.You have not registered your serial number with N3V. This can be done by clicking Planet Auran above, then clicking Serial Number, then filling in the form.
2.It looks like you are running the Steam version, which currently is unpatchable, but that may change soon.

Hi, and thank you for the reply.

Its true that that account does not have a serial number registered with planet Auran, but this one has, the other account is faulty and i forgot i was logged in with it.
Here are my system specs as requested:

I would very much like to check that errors on the red bugs, but i do not know exactly how.
I did a quick database repair and an extended one, both are good and without warnings or faults.
I do know that it doesnt matter what i'm building or what i'm doing it crashes (along with my computer) at a random moment.

OK - next question. Have you updated your DirectX files? I have a sticky in General Trainz that can help with that.

To check what a script error is, you can click the red bug, which will bring up a screen with a list of the errors so far. Clicking one will detail the error and what's causing it.

Shane

Yep, my DX files are all up to date.
Also, i only started to get this error after i added some color to my project, and thats after some good 20 hours of editing, without faults. Now i crash withing 10 minutes, this can be all pure coincidence, but its perhaps worth noting.
Indeed i would love to click that bug, but the problem is that my computer freezes as soon as one pops up my screen, so i can't really do anything.

It sounds like you've got a corrupt texture involved somewhere, but it's going to involve trial and error to find out which one it is. You may find the Replace Assets tool in Surveyor useful for this.

Shane

hold on !
Now i'm getting another error.
Your computer hardware and or software is unable to communicate correctly with Trainz.
Ensure you have:
Installed DirectX9
Installed the latest drivers of your video card.
tried both openGL and DirectX settings.
-----------------------------------------------------
Well my directX is up to date, i just checked that now to be sure.
My drivers of my video card are up to date, just checked that now.

Now after fiddling some with the video options this proved to be nothing, as it is working again now, and everything is changed back as it was before. Tho it automatically was switched to OpenGL, i switched it back to DirectX
The missing assets window shows nothing, it could be that i do not know how this works since its been a constant learning curve so far (i'm very new to this game).
If there is a way to remove texture of the ground, i do not know of it, or do not know how the replace assets tool works.
Is there a way of deleting the game, and keeping the project? i found my project located in the steam folder: E:\games\Steam\steamapps\common\ts2012\UserData\backups\12-07-30
But is that enough if i backup those files to keep the project?

If you backup the whole UserData folder, you can then reinstall the game.

There is currently no way of removing a texture once placed though, apart from deleting it using Content Manager.

Shane

i heard about this tool called erazer, everyone is referring to the link:http://www.uelasticus.de/erazor/erazor.zip but its no longer there. Those posts are 6 years old.
Is this tool no longer usable?

I'm pretty sure its something that my computer needs to draw since surveyor is running now for a while and not crashing, i'm just not putting it on the foreground.

Also its not clear to me what you meen with
If you backup the whole UserData folder, you can then reinstall the game.
do you meen that i can get my project back then when i put those back after reinstalling?
I just want to make sure, before i make a tragic mistake :)
I want to try OpenGL, BUT, personally i find openGL.. well, its not always as handy as i want it to be, and it used to be working with DirectX so, i just want to know whats going on.
Also, my route is up to 11 sessions now, how come? since i cannot remember making any sessions apart from creating the route and just saving each time i'm done.

? 0:07.0 : InterfaceTextDB> failed to load compiled interfacetext file

I did not get these before.

I think i have found the solution !
Worth for everyone with perhaps the same problem: my Vsync rate was at half rate, and it was crashing, now its a at full and so far its not crashing anymore.
If this could be of help to anyone with a simular problem.

Shane, thx for your assistance, and your time.

Kind regards, David.

Sorry to take things a bit off topic but I went to your website shaneturner12 and my internet browser and antivirus report that your site is not safe. Do you know what the problem is to why it reports that viewing the site may harm the computer.

I believe its your Norton software at fault due to its Safeweb system which is prone to false positives.

Can you PM me a screenshot of the page so I can check please.

Shane
