It Seems that The makers of this product Will Not support Older versions of trainz like 2010 and the support you do get is Horrable.if you got products out there For sail ,Support the product and not refere us to a Stupid Forum!

Hi jimabbey,

Welcome to the forums.

Regarding the support, there is a cutoff point which is currently TS2009 - anything older is not supported. This is because N3V have a 5-year support cycle, which is more than some companies. The version you currently have is supported until September 2014 though, so you've got just under 2 years of support remaining.

The official information is available at http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Trainz_Life-Cycle_Policy.

You may well find that it is quicker to use the forum for support anyway, as the community is normally a lot quicker than N3V at being able to deal with issues, and are also available outside N3V working hours.

Thank you for the reply,At least you were to the point and pleasant,Lots of post replies ,i see here Are snarky and down right rude.

I do my best to be polite, although occasionally I do end up having to deal with rude users (and don't worry, you are not one of them). The only issues the community cannot solve are normally serial number issues and certain account problems, which still require Helpdesk assistance.

Hopefully my explanation helped.

Shane

EDIT: As you are a new user, it may be worth reading the Code of Conduct (available at http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Code_Of_Conduct or by clicking the relevant button above) if only to avoid problems with the moderators or other forum users later.

Welcome to the world of Trainz jimabbey. This forum is a great place for help and info. Most everyone is very supportive and helpfull, and there can be some good natured ribbing going on too!
I put Shanes link on the favorites bar so I would have quick access to his tutorials. They have helped me a lot.....

Good Morning Jimabbey
We do provide support for Trainz Simulator 2009 and newer (as is outlined in the Trainz Life Cycle Policy here.

However, there are some aspects we cannot provide technical support for, such as for 3rd party created content. Unfortunately, our system shows no tickets from either your account's username, or the email address in your account, or under the name listed in your account, and as such cannot check what issue you were experiencing, or why we forwarded you to the forums.

Regards

My problem with trainz 2010 is a certain thread exception, as follows (UpdatesMenu : Thread Exception: ER_Timeout, line 100, file updatesmenu.gs (1) ) reinstalled more times than i care to count. and get the same result, patches download manually or other seem to not work?

Take it slowly we can probably work you through the problems. First if you have TS12 do you want to just try getting that one to work first? That would probably be the simplest.

If so then since Trainz can be a little finicky I suggest you get the latest drivers for your motherboard and video card first.

Then install it into something like c:\N3V\trainz rather than the default location of under program files which can get you into permission problems if you don't have admin access. Shane probably has a tutorial on how best to install the beast lying around somewhere.

Cheerio John
