If you are new to Trainz no matter if it is [2004 world folder] [2006 2009 2010 local folder], it is always worthwhile to save a folder called { Local } in your Auran root directory before installing any updates Service Packs ,reason why is ,this folder holds all your content that you have downloaded for and all your saved routes .
To copy this Local folder do this
right click start
then 1 left click explore
then double left click c drive or whatever drive
then double left click program files
then double left click Auran
then double left click 2010
then 1 right click on local folder from the menu select copy
then make another folder somewhere else call it Trainz 2010 folder saved
then 1 right click on this new folder then in the menu 1 left click on paste
now you are done
REMEMBER before you install any update save save save
believe me it will save you a lot of heart ache and time

Note that as of TS2010 SP2, the 'local' directory has been moved, along with all other 'install specific' files and directories to underneath the 'UserData' directory of the installation. (SP2 install automatically moves the relevant files/directories too)

Ummmm, I don't want a negative response, but shouldn't it be better if you SKIP to the next Sp Pack?

Ps. PaulzTrainz does make good trains. I've seen his promo vids on YouTube!
