Trainz routes 1-4 - where are they?

Hi all,

After faffing abut with TS2009 for a couple of weeks, I've decided to revert back to TRS2006, at least until some more of the bugs are sorted out.

I just installed the 4 Trainz routes collections from CD...the files are all in /world/ folder, but when I start TRS I can't see any of the new routes in Driver.

There must be something else I should be doing, but what?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers, Nige

Hello Flying Elf,

I'll tell you what happened to me. Recently I had a major problem, either with the Trainz CMP online , or a virus, or with Windows XP in general ...

This is a little hard to believe ... I did a full format of the three partitions I have on my drive.. This couldn't have worked too well ... BUT anyway, I reinstalled Trainz 2006 ... then I started reinstalling the Trainz Routes (mine are on one DVD)

I noticed something goofy in the path box Install to C: Trainz (I had installed my trainz 2006 to drive D:) ..The Route installer was pointing to C: Trainz ...Somewhat confused, I let it continue. The routes didn't show up in my Trainz 2006.

The Routes were in a World folder in 2006, but didn't show up in Surveyor or Driver. I reformatted the drive again and the Routes installer now showed D:Trainz (the proper path) and it installed correctly.

So this tells me that the path for the routes sometimes does not work right. That's all I can tell you. Good luck with it! Bob P.

PS I think I got it to work the first time by making sure the Routes ja files were in the proper World folder, then I deleted the assets.tdx file (is it) and It got rebuilt and I swear this also worked ... but maybe not completely right I can't remember.

Mine is fine now...all the new routes are in Surveyor...just have to add rolling stock and they appear in Driver.

The install path for the routes on mine was correct (I checked it when I installed the second time!).

Isn't windoze great... that's why I switched to Mac a year ago :hehe: . I now only use windows, installed on my Mac, for the very few programs I use where there is no Mac alternative...TRS is 1...Sage Accounts (for my business) is the other.
