Trainz route developed in trainz 2009

My old computer died and I had 2 saved KUID's of my route I created on trainz 2009, one being the route and the other the session. I've tried installing them on another computer and downloaded all the things DLS can find except when I try to play/edit the route in trainz 2009 it says parts of this route are missing or have been deleted. Is there anything I can do because I've downloaded all I can for it. I REALLY WANT THIS ROUTE BACK!

There may be assets that were built-in 2009 that are not in Tane, but they should show up as missing dependencies.
Cheers,
Mike

I'm trying to play it my route in trainz 2009 which I created in trainz 2009 but it claims parts of the route are damaged or missing. I really want this route back!

So what are the missing KUIDs?

Go into Content Manager

View faulty assets

The route and session, with missing assets will show up as a faulty route.

Right-click on the route and view dependencies.

In T:ANE Content Manager a new window will open up which will show all the dependencies for the route. If you haven't already, right-click on the columns, and add in status. The column will appear on the far right and you can drag that to another place if you want. Once you have this column added, if haven't had it there already, click on it to sort up or down. Any missing assets will show up with a ? and Unknown Asset name, but will show the KUID.

You can then highlight those. Click Edit on the menu and choose copy, and paste here in the forums.

Repeat the same for your sessions, though I think it's on the route and not the sessions.

I would imagine most if not all of the built in content from TS2009 was added to the DLS when they archived TS2010 on there, as it was all included in that version.

Why not try reinstalling TS2009 and see if the route opens okay in that, then you'll know the issue is actually compatibility with the jump to TANE?

I haven't tried the route in TANE, all trying in 2009 on a new computer. I can try reinstalling 2009 and see if I can get it working but I only did just install 2009

Hi

I know that with routes from early versions of Trainz they have to be installed into TS12 first and then exported from there into T:ANE. Something to do with file formats I believe. It's so long since I used TS2009 that I can't remember much about it so don't know if that is the case with that version though.

Did TS2009 have layers? That could be one explanation for only part of the route being there if one of the layers failed to export.

Regards

Brian

I did update my trainz 2009 to the latest build number saving the route in that version. On my new computer it's the standard version I'm using. The route is a TasRail route I created which 1000s of base boards.

I can't get TANE working because of the activation code being used for my old pc now dead, I could try installing it on TANE and re-saving it.

If the route was saved with Trainz 2009 at the latest build (44653), then you will need to bring your new install up to the same build before you try to open the route.
2009 Service packs can be found here --> http://www.auran.com/servicepacks/#TS2009

If you don't have the kickstrater version of tane you don't have an activation code for tane, it activates online, using your login name and password.

In that case you must repair the database (using the cmd.exe) in the way that explains ShaneTurner on his website... and wait patiently till it completes.
