Trainz Resources Directory

Route Builder
Last week I contacted John King at the Trainz Resources Directory and inquired about listing the Cumberland to Connellsville route on the site. I sent him the requested info, and over the weekend, the site was listed, and I have to say that it looks great.

When I first uploaded the route to the Trainz Pro Routes DLS in February 2008, I included an extensive readme narrative, in the CDP folder, describing the route, the various railroads, and the history of the area.

Unfortunately, most of those who downloaded the route were not aware of this file because you had to look for it in Dispatcher/Downloads, or the CMP, to open it.

After uploading the route in Feb, 2008, I started a thread in the Freeware section of the Auran forum, and included a link to a YouTube video of the route, but the video is no longer available unless you do a search for it.

With the new listing at Trainz Resources Directory, links to both the narrative and the video are readily available. The Directory also includes a link to the TPR DLS so that you may download it.

I’m surprised that more route builders haven’t listed their routes with the Directory. If you take the time to design a nice route, and upload it to the DLS, within several months it is hopelessly buried.

If you list your route with the Trainz Resources Directory, it will get more exposure, it will always be readily available, and you’ll have a direct link to its download source. All you have to do is provide John with the requested info, and he will do the rest.

For those of you that have visited the Trainz Resources Directory, you’ll agree that it is very well designed and easy to navigate. For those of you, who haven’t seen the site, check it out. You’ll find a lot of helpful information there.

If you’re interested in taking a look at the Cumberland to Connellsville, you’ll find it here: http://trainzresources.com/directory/ Click on Routes, USA.

Regards, Joe

I have downloaded the Cumberland to Connellsville route and it is a very nice route!!

I added all the hog files so that it wouldn't hold a spot in my Missing Dependencies folder. Everything works perfect! Very nice route!!!

Now if someone would work on a UP route from El Paso to Fort Worth that would be the icing on the cake!! I would but I am not that good of a route builder.
