Trainz Release Opinions

Best version

I would have to say 09 is the best.

10 to me was a must by Auran as they couldn't sell speed trees so the changed a few colours, added a memory hogging start exe (can't remember it's name), botched up the surveyor page, and thankfully added layers.

Layers should have been an 09 sp and for goodness sake created a better CMP app.

Lets hope there's a change for the better round the corner.

Well as it happens this morning I got so bored with RW, I took TS2010 back off the shelf and reinstalled it (out of interest, no power issues with the laptop this time). Forty five minutes in Transdem produced the map overlay and DEM formed terrain and after expecting just to potter around at Queen Street, I got the main line laid out as far as Croy (still got all of Cowlairs to do yet, etc. etc.). Just the track laying so far is looking better than the TRS2004 original, smooth curves, straights with no doglegs and a dighole tunnel at Queen Street.

I'm not intending to go to Edinburgh with the first iteration but I am planning a slight extension to the original in that it will go to Polmont, Larbert and include the line through Grahamston. Where possible I shall try and stick with using default items - in the spirit of the original.

Great to hear Vern, your having another go at your superb route, It's a mighty route to under take, but it's an absolute pleasure to drive, Croy was my favourite station, as it was in the country, in the middle of nowhere.

I used to sit alongside the station, the signal would turn green and I would have about a three minute wait before the train whizzed through the station, superb...

There was two parts of your route you had to be a master at driving, one on the way to Queen Street, where it elevates down towards the tunnel, if you go too fast there, you won't stop at Queen Street, and the other was the tight curve at the other end of the route just before Falkirk Station, whether that was built intentionally, I don't know...

Anyways, you have a route to get along with, and your not going to get very far by reading my post...

Good luck with your route Vern, I really do hope Auran release it in the near future...
