Trainz Plus Release Candidate 116271 now available

116271 but probably older problem :

session all consists are hiding and layers are display on.
tried an old trick of me to take a car and move it in surveyor until it reaches the hidden consist.
1st time it deleted the loco it ' sort of crashed into at 1 kmh but the 3 cars rolling stock showed.
Tried that again reopened the session in surveyor and no more trick worked the loco i moved to sort of connect to the hidden consist went in hiding too and shown in mapview as front loco.
message when fiddling with move layer and or merge layer : ! <NULL> : Warning: Parent track not found for trackside object 'Open Hopper 4Bay Canadian National # 10'.

I not quit easy so i tried again and noticed that if I exit the train driver and have just a consist with locos (no driver) I can revive the consist when moving a new loco and connect it. Now it shows again but of course this not solves the underlaying problems.

G.M. - FYI - Just installed Set_Drivers_Condition_Rule (V21) on Build 116271.
Have not tested its functionality in a session yet, so do not know if it works in 22, but it showed the following errors on script compile during the subsequent DBR:

Edit Update: Confirming that the V21 version of this excellent rule works a treat in this beta build. Thank you!

Yup TY PC_Ace
this was same a year ago when I started updating it, I use some older commands in this script, specially the search functions
only used in the (?) count screen. the old functions give these warnings, but function just fine (actually better than the new search).
Much worse, is many base and built-in scripts that give errors, those should be bug reported, so they finally fix them.

Hi Tony,

One of my favorite sessions behaves strange. One of the drivers suddenly switches the junction even where he would not have to switch the junction. He stops in front of a signal and refuses to switch the junction back on the mainline, which he should ride on correctly. In addition, the junction that had been switched leads the train to a siding that is occupied by another train.

Can you help me to resolve this issue?

Thank you for your answer in advance.

Lokomark

Mark,

For which route does the session have the problem?

Route Marias Pass Route X, sessions Race for Shelby (TS12 Ready), Race for Shelby (TANE Ready).

This is really, really old. Marias Pass dates back to TS12 and there are many custom scripts in there that need updating and that has never occurred since the route was released to take into account the new file structure for routes and sessions. This is something that Lothar and Josef need to do, unfortunately.

@HPL there must be thousands of assets with similar problems
a m.reflect material missing its diffuse texture in the barber S-2-b trucks in this case
the same cars can be found on the download station btw (also broken there)
but the moment it becomes base, built-in or packaged, n3v needs to fix it :-)

Indeed... This subject came up in the Discord chat today. The green windows on cars and green wheels is annoying. Why didn't the textures remain invisible? It was much nicer that way. :)

(Snark of course!)

The missing textures unfortunately can't be replaced due to how they're referenced in the mesh and that requires a Hex editor to fix that if you want to go that far.

For .im files I usually add a gray texture, using the IM Editor, to the empty diffuse slot of the material. Another problem are m.onetex materials without any texture, which should have been m.notex materials. This could be fixed with IM Editor too. This fix is only possible for editable assets.

Peter, you and me are the rare breed that can fix anything, for the average user its confusing and pure annoying
In the years I see many changes, that are totally unneeded and no one ever asked for.
It is not good for the product, people should drive trains and make routes not do unneeded "repairs"

Allow me to say that the forum search mechanism is not user friendly for me at least. To search for something 99.9% of the time the search end up in the woods. I have to try vi google and sorts to find a post realated to my question.

Check this: clock stopped working :

The rule time set stopped working and long story short I had to delete the rule, save the session and reinstall the rule from scratch to make it work again.

You can use Google site search which works better. At very bottom of google website (footer) find "Settings" and click "Advanced Search." Enter your search term and then under "Narrow your results" in the "Site" box enter https://forums.auran.com/trainz/

I did a search with a generic term and saved it to favorites. When I click that it does the search but then you can just go into the url and replace the generic term with your new term. This prevents you from having to do the "advanced search" every time. Note that the url must be exactly as I show. https://forums.auran.com/trainz/

Here's a search for your term:

Copy that, paste it in url field and see the returns!

You can search wiki same way using sitesearch and this url: online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/

1611mac most appreciated much easier this way and the question rise of course why all those years n3v does NOT even try to make it easier for users on the forum to find results Q&A etc which would in return make trainz much more appreciated.
Funny how down under the mind set is so different and narrow by times.

The time set rule makes my clock not work.
Each time I change a setting to different time and or the time rate I have to delete the rule first save the session and install the rule again. Beats me.
You havew a nice day!

Or simply enter: <your search string> site:https://forums.auran.com

Merci Hughe indeed that is more direct but both work.

Sometimes I wonder how the timeline in the forum really works.
I did "donate" gold membership , got trainz plus,S2.0,Trs22(?) and all sorts of things I never have the time to explore in full detail.
My WIP's keeps me to busy from doing other wonderful things to enjoy so many Trainzers creates over the years.
Timeline still show only TRS19 which I never touched again ince I got my hands on S2.0.
You all stay safe and healthy and let us hope the war lord East of the EU will be send to his own gulag in Siberia some day.

Hi everyone.

I tried to move some of my routes and sessions from TRS19 to TRS22 build 116271 and I think I'm having a quite noticeable performance issues, fps drops to be sure, compared to TRS19.
I also noticed that antialiasing option is no longer in the launcher, why is that? Seems like TRS22 is forcing me to use maximum antialiasing, that seems to be the reason for FPS drops. In TRS19 I usually played with 2x or sometimes 4x antialiasing, depending on the route. But in TRS22 even if I click on override application settings in my graphics card options - that trick doesn't seem to work. Is this a known issue or is there a reason for this change? I don't think some players will appreciate this much.

Thanks,
Nickolas.

Is this all the time or just after moving the routes in?

I noticed that the routes were initially bad performing, but after everything cached the performance was the same or better depending upon the routes.

I don't know why the graphics are locked. It could be a beta thing right now, or a feature that needs to be expanded and has been removed for the moment. You should send in a bug report if you think that's an issue.
