Trainz Plus Beta TLR Phase 3 - Windows & Mac (134634 & 134645)

Hello,

My first-time test of TLR. I am interested in passenger trains. I constructed a test route with 12 stations, including a loop.
The automatic system generated over 600 lines... that is too much. Breaking the loop reduced the number, but it was still overwhelming. Then I switched of the automatic generation and deleted all the lines.
I set up a simple route myself.
When set to the automatic scheduler, the train went on its way optimistically. But no, it did not stop at the first station listed on the route. It slowed down somewhat but it did not stop. (Btw, I used three types of stations, but mostly AJS invisible stations 1T and 2T.) Since the train did not stop, the command (Navigate to ...) that is visible in the Driver interface did not change to the one for the next station in line, and as a result the train lost its way and left the intended route. The proper route could clearly be made visible as a colored line from the Dispatch Manager.
Anyone any idea why the train does not stop? I guess that when that problem is solved, the route may work.
Thanks for any suggestion.

Paul

PS when the Dispatch Manager was left to assign the route with the highest score to the driver/train, the effect was the same: the train never stopped and left the route that was assigned to it.

Question? @n3v_laurence has TLR ever been able to recognize that at piece of rolling stock standing alone in the yard is loaded and ready for delivery or has it always only worked with empty rolling stock that it assigns to be loaded before delivery? This seems to be an important function as through trains often drop off loaded cars to a division yard that are then delivered by a local train.

Yes, TLR recognises empty rolling stock. There is also an option (Advanced Dispatch Settings -> Global) to enable/disable Train Return as well. This option will return the the train once TLR has completed the task.

Could you raise a bug report, and include screenshots of both the AI drive command issued and Dispatch Manager showing the passenger stations listed. What is the Navigate To command issued by TLR? If you issue the same navigate to command to a train (without TLR enabled) does the train drive to the station?

Hutton HI!

I noted this an earlier beta...
"
I’ve had problems with some stations. For example “station brick large” - this is just a station platform without track attached. The station is placed, then a marker is placed. This isn’t recognised by the AI.
Neither are the AJS invisible stations…

in the previous beta pware reported

I also had similar problems with old invisible platforms. The DLS contains some that work very well in TRS22 and Trainz Plus.

<kuid2:458053:106098:2> Invisible platform 30 meters narrow
<kuid2:458053:104098:3> Invisible platform 15 meters
<kuid2:458053:100619:4> Invisible platform 30 meters
<kuid:458053:113095> Invisible platform 100 meters
<kuid2:458053:100327:7> Invisible platform 50 meters"

I suspect that like multi-track industries there needs to be some additions made to the config and/or *.gs files

Cheers,

Colin

Hello,

Thanks for your suggestions. It was the stations themselves. Even with a Navigate To command given "manually" the train did not stop and load. I replaced the stations by one of those listed above (created by vincentrh) and it worked.
Now all this does not seem to be easier than creating a schedule from commands, in which each command is itself a short schedule dealing with a specific platform, loading times, door control. In TLR, the representation of a "line" in terms of stops is nice of course. Tuning of the stops for loading and waiting times would be a nice development. Maybe the possibility to wait for an event (trigger). The use of track markers for an additional move...
Thanks again!

Paul

Paul, just a thought - you can create a library of commands and insert them into the command sequence ( e.g. pause 20 second, open door (l or r), wait 20 seconds, close door, wait 20 seconds) if you create the schedule in the session set-up, the dispatch manager will copy that ..

Hello ColPrice2002,

That sounds interesting. I use such a "library" and with Copy Commands From, the bits and pieces are inserted into the final schedule.
But how can I make the Dispatch Manager use a schedule created in Edit Session / Driver Setup? Does it look for a driver with a schedule that is compatible with the automatically generated "line" and task??
Thanks for your messages.

Regards,
Paul

Hi, from what I understand (from some of the beta announcements) is that the DLR will copy instructions for a consist if they are setup in the driver setup screen (edit session, then edit the drivers instructions).
I think I tried it once and it seemed to work, but I’ve been trying to get several industries working….
