Hello Everyone,

It's been a little while since the last Trainz Plus Beta. The team has been busy investigating a bug that is impacting specific hardware running HD terrain which has delayed things. We are now back and gearing up to release SP7 with TLR Phase 3.

There have been a few minor tweaks since the last beta build, the main 'behind the scenes' change was how some overlays are rendered (things like the junction green/red arrows and realistic in-cab controls). There should be no user facing changes, but be on the look out for anything that may appear incorrect while driving your own unique content.

No problems here with patching but my webroot antivirus tried to perceive my simulator as a threat but turns out it was not, I'll it test more later.

Download went smoothly, did a little background DBR but no big deal. Initial opening of program gave me about 90 seconds of black screen, just enough to start to make me wonder if it fubared me, lol. Loading screen came on and when I chose the route to open, precaching took about 4 to 5 minutes. After that, all seems good; no discernable problems so far.
 
I'm happy to finally hear an update about the development of this beta! I didn't have any problems with the installation, everything went well!
I didn't expect another SP for TRS2022
 
T'was good to read the latest newsletter on development progress as we hadn't heard a peep from N3V for a very long time! (Too long) This update is also very welcome.

The download and patching went smoothly. I had to perform multiple patches because I patched up from the released version. An EDBR is in progress now and I'll test when it completes probably some time tomorrow.
 
Running a test session after just a few minutes this popped up.

In Driver I was unable to find anything in the menus that turned this feature on or off.
 
That is the achievement tracking feature which dates back at least to TS12 if not further back. Odd that it is not only on but also reset to seeing you as a beginner. It is my understanding that it is a Steam requirement to be able to be sold on Steam.

Edit: Mine is reset to beginner too. On the main menu screen showing the four buttons and a item of rolling stock to the right, move your mouse to the top of the screen and the menu bar appears with a hamburger menu on the far left. Click on it and choose Achievements... and a dialogue will show all of them and your progress. I'm not sure if you can disable it.

I think I will leave it at Experienced Hostler" as the thought of doing 10,000 switches to get the highest pay grade does seem daunting.

Out of curiosity I just Googled "Hostler" and this is what it returned (via some AI but not Adair or his mates):-

Railroad Hostler: A specialized operator who moves locomotives between storage tracks and maintenance sheds (roundhouses).
 
Yep, at least in American railroad operations in the steam days, the road crew did not take control of the train until it was assembled and ready to go on a departure track. Of course, the opposite was true as well, they would leave the train on a arrival track at the end of the day. Union rules I would imagine.

I got a black screen inside the window frame. I run in window mode. It lasted for about 90 seconds I think and then it went on with startup. Just on the first time starting the program.
