Trainz Plus Beta 115373 (TRS22) Now available

...

Low res loco textures - known issue. Hopefully fixed in the next update.
...

Not sure if this is the same issue so...

When installing TRS22 I used the "high" default performance settings but on checking one of my locos (PBR) it was showing lots of highlights (speckles?) on some surfaces. This was also evident in my simple test route and looked awful.

I turned down some of the performance settings and the result was better. See below:

The speckly effects are far more obvious when rotating either in game or in preview asset. I can probably recreate the two sets of settings if required. The loco is on the DLS.

I activated Trainz Plus subscription. I downloaded Trainz 2019 installer and ran it. I set up Trainz 2019 and downloaded Trainz 2022 patch. I ran Kickstarter Country 2 and the passenger train session. I get "Speeding: 30/30" messages. When I try to exit Trainz 2022 after saving the session, I get white blank screen and I had to call up Task Manager and terminate Trainz 2022. In Content Manager, I installed my NYCTA 2019 subway system and found some missing dependancies. I had to fix the problems.

Goodnight.

I signed up for trainz plus, downloaded trainz 2019 SP4, logged in with my account and verified that trainz plus was active, but I was unable to gain access to TRS22. where can i download the patch?

The patch is found using the Trainz Plus Beta patch stream (Trainz Settings > Install > Change update stream).

Check the location of your original data folder, it should still be there. Point TRS22 at it and do a DBR
Still no luck, the patch overwrote my entire TRS 19 - I have lost over 10 years of work. Be very wary of this patch download!!

That's it for me and Trainz for now

Bob

Hi Bob. Installing TRS22 overwrote your "Install" folder, not your local data folder.
You can download and install TRS19 from MyTrainz and install it to a new location if you want it for any reason.

Now, back to locating your 10 years of data, it is right where you left it. Trainz never overwrites your local data folder.

Check in C:\Users\<your pc>\AppData\Local\N3V Games\trs19.
The folder with the most recent date is most likely your TRS19 local data folder.
Point your new install to that folder and all your work will return.

If there is nothing in that folder, then look in the userdata-redirect-map.txt doc and find the path to your TRS19 install. e.g.

"c:/users/thill/trainz drive/trs19" "C:/Users/thill/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build tbyvbh6o1"

Bob, you may have to go to the view tab on Windows Explorer and in options/settings "view hidden files and folders" if your data is on C: drive.
Same thing happened to me, redirected and DBR and all is good.

Submitted a bug report for an assertion message, did not seem to be critical. I note that the bug report system does not have build 115373 as an option.

DB repair/validating 68,000+ assets took about 14hrs.
Thumbnails not display in CM
Asset details will not show in window previews.
Routes seem to not suffer any adversities.

100,000 assets in my DB was ~15 minutes. I wonder if your AV (or something else) was interfering with file access?

They're showing here. Perhaps related to the problems in your db repair taking so long. Please recheck.

Routes seem to not suffer any adversities.

Great news.

Its a minor point but I do like the small icons in CM that identify the type of asset. It means that I can do without the Type column (once I learn to identify the icon meanings).

Thanks Tony, my bad. I didn't think to go into settings (install) and point it to my TRS 19 Local Folder. It is now doing an enormous data base repair - so I think all is going to be OK. Thanks again mate.
Regards
Bob

Everything runs beautifully. Now to continue building.

Looking very nice, crisp sharp and smooth. A very nice touch with the foreground locomotive changing on the loading screen.
I went for a quick run on one of the later Canadian Rocky Mountains routes, moved between 3 trains and no problems so far.
The DBR on a large database took hours to complete on a platter HDD, a bit of patience is required.
cheers
Graeme

ARN is broken (freeware, payware and DLCs). As for US/Canadian locomotives all in-cab running numbers are "4321" or "3210", etc. A few examples of rolling stock:
