Trainz on D drive

Hi

I was just checking through the errors that RegistryBooster 2010 picked up.

I was just searching through when I found

Entry: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-854245398-1383384898-725345543-1003\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\trainzcmp\trainzcmp_Download_Complete\.Current
Value name:
Value: C:\Program Files\Auran\TC\Bin\cmpdata\Sounds\Download Complete.wav
Reason: The key under key HKEY_USERS/S-1-5-21-854245398-1383384898-725345543-1003/AppEvents/Schemes/Apps/trainzcmp/trainzcmp_Download_Complete/.Current contains an invalid path C:\Program Files\Auran\TC\Bin\cmpdata\Sounds\Download Complete.wav

inside the error message.

But then when I read it, I looked up the directory for C:\Program Files\Auran\TC, when I found the entire auran directory missing I thought "Hang on, didn't I install TC3 on the D drive and not the C drive?

So the correct directory would be D:\Program Files\Auran\TC".

So, I looked up the D:\Program Files\Auran\TC directory and found the files for the sounds were all included, just weren't being played on the CMP for some reason.

So, I thought "Since TC3 was installed on D:\Program Files\Auran\TC. then that would make "HKEY_USERS/S-1-5-21-854245398-1383384898-725345543-1003/AppEvents/Schemes/Apps/trainzcmp/trainzcmp_Download_Complete/.Current" look in the wrong folder."

Can anybody tell me what went wrong?

I presume that I have to go into HKEY_USERS/S-1-5-21-854245398-1383384898-725345543-1003/AppEvents/Schemes/Apps/trainzcmp/trainzcmp_Download_Complete/ and change the directory in there so it plays the sounds.:(

Literally, the last time I herd those sounds was TRS 2006 which was installed on the C drive, the D drive didn't exist back then.

Is this the right place to put this post? Or should I put it directly into auran helpdesk?

General information
I have windows XP service pack 3
The scan was done with RegistryBooster Version 4.7.1.1 the date was done 2010-06-06 done at 07:51:18

If you want anymore information, just ask.

I have never had Trainz on C drive.
All my Trainz stuff is on D & E at the moment.Just ran through the registry & nothing shows up on C Drive only D & E.
You may have something left over from a previous install that wasn't deleted.

Possibly, Ill run some tests to see if I can fix the sounds, probably some more problems along the way as well.;)

Hi - I can remember this happening to me with regard to 2006. I had a problem with 2006 and uninstalled it. I had been thinking for a long time to put 2006 onto another hard drive. I did - and it tried to install to C - even though I gave it the new drive letter. Trainz can detect previous installations (others have had this problem with 2009 and 2010). For example if you buy 2010 and it can detect 2009 (even on another drive) it will opt to patch to that by default.

I would run a registry cleaner on your C drive (use with caution) and then install your Trainz again.

Dave was suggesting much the same I think.

Hope it works out.

Yeah, I don't think I will reinstall trainz if it does boil down to that because my computer's hopfully going to last out till the end of this month, then have it replaced with a new and better one (kind of seeing dejavo when I say that ;)) which will make me reformat anyway.
