trainz no video

having problem with trainz been running it for about a month now all of the sudden when you open it the start menu comes up and when you click start it opens up and runs for about one minute and then the screen goes black and says no signal it is trainz 2010 engineers edition most current version with murchison 2 pack {please help}

Hi Harold,

We're sorry to hear about your pains with Trainz. (Sorry for the rhyme - not intended). Without any details about your system, it's hard for us to troubleshoot what your problem is.

In the meantime try the following and let us know if it works or not.

1) Run TrainzDiag.
Usually in C:\Program Files\Auran\TS2010\bin (Program Files (x86) for 64-bit systems).

This will tell you if your system is capable of running Trainz okay.

2) Check your that video drivers and DirectX are up-to-date

3) Check that Vsync is set to automatic in your options so that your monitor automactially syncs up for the game

4) Try Open/GL instead of DirectX, and vice-versa.

Please post the details on your CPU, video card, etc. This is really helpful for us.

have tried all of this does not work had my uncle suggest to unistall program and reinstall tried it can not unistall says unistall file is corrupt my operating system is vista 32 bit amd athlon x2 4050e video card is nvidia 9800 gt system has 3GB of ram

It seems as though Trainz is not playing well with your video card. "No signal" would indicate that to me. Is the case overheating? Is it dusty inside? Is your power supply getting ready to take a vacation on you? It could be something you've added recently if the problem has just started, a new update, or game that installed something that's interfering with Trainz?

everytime i open trainz now it pops up a box and starts looking for new content the only thing i have changed is download a couple of things in the content manager

I recommend performing an extended database repair. When you start Trainz, go to the Manage Content menu, click on "File" (I think) at the top after CM3 opens, then choose EDR from the drop down menu.
