Trainz Multiple Copies

I have noticed in my directory that I seem to have multiple copies of the program. I have no idea how this has happened. Does anyone know if it is safe to uninstall the earlier versions?

Yes it's safe.

You may also have multiple local data folders (check in the Install tab of your launcher for more details).

There is no need to delete any of them unless you need the storage space. To answer your question, only delete the ones that don't have anything you expect to need again.

I created a separate folder called TRS2019_DATA. It's the current folder and I know exactly which one is the correct one. It's easier than digging through app data/local/N3V Games to look for anything. It also helps if there's another drive or two available. In my case, I put my data folder on my E: drive. Simple.
