Trainz members numbers growing...

Looking at the numbers on the bottom of the main Forum Page today, there are now 449,800 members.

On June 6, 2011, I posted in a thread that at that time there were 441,250 members.

So, in 40 days, the Trainz world has added 8,550 new members.

No doubt, the recent sale on products by N3V motivated people worldwide to purchase and register their Trainz purchase.

N3V must be doing something right to gain that many new users in a short time for a niche game product.

Also, the new content, both freeware and payware may be stimulating these sales. Thanks to all content creators for their work.

JointedRail must be mentioned for their high quality American rail content.

It is good to see this activity in sales for N3V. Hopefully, the revenue will help sustain the Trainz series, for the benefit of all users.

I wonder if other train sims/games (do to a rare touch of sanity I will not put any name here) are seeing this volume of activity in their sales.

Even with this increase in new members, the DLS servers seem to be able to handle the downloads without any issues.

Please,... I respectfully ask that we not turn this post into a debate about other rail sims, there are plenty of threads that will handle the debate.

Great work N3V.

Regards,
Ron

That explains the 2500 fraudulent charges to my credit card. I knew I should have cancelled that thing...:(

That is good - the only puzzle is how many of those new users actually register their serial number, as I've noticed quite a few who haven't (which makes me wary of helping them, for certain reasons).

You can't be serious? :p

Ron - This would explain the increased number of questions and non-product registrations we've seen here lately.

I hope a few of the new people stick around after their initial registration and pop into the forums.

Opps........

Forgot to mention Euphods recent uploads.

They may have enticed more people to purchase.

That is good news, I didn't realize there were so many members these day's. I'm sure when I joined there were less than half that amount. The more the merrier to keep Trainz rolling.
Shane,
That one bothers me the most at the moment

If you are referring to the non-registration of serial numbers, it bothers me too, as I cannot give accurate advice without knowing what versions they have, and also there is the question of where it came from.

More like kept them away...I guess that would explain the rest of the world's population that haven't bought the products!:hehe:

I wish Auran would come up with a icon for the Mac users, that would take care of some of the issues...

Shane,

This bothers me too. I noticed a few bit-torrent sites out there with "complete" downloads of TRS2010 and other versions while searching for Kuid numbers for missing content. (I won't list them here due to COC violations).

Here in thailand you can buy them for 100-200 bath

Sad enough here I remember once I tested 2006 what the piracy copy could do and man it is a complete incl stack of keys to activate shame but reality.
Try not to imagine in China what you can find there for free(100bath)on the flee markets....
Wonder how JointedRail protects their items against cybertheft is there a way or same like anything else you can find for free?

Good news is yes Trainz is making a lot of progress and growing despite the little bit flimsy release again with the big spline problem in 12.

WE ALL can be proud of what we N3V and the community achieved we oldtimers, newcomers soon too and staff but we still have a lot to improve on QI, well tested releases and patches.

Well done everybody out there you too John:hehe::cool:

Roy n Ning

Roy,

I saw that when I was in Taiwan many years ago. There was so much bootleg stuff for sale right in the flea markets and on the streets. The sad part is so many people want stuff, and for many people it's just out of their league financially, so the black market steps in with just the right price.

Interestingly, today Microsoft decided that my very expensive copy of Windows 7 Ultimate was pirated and they wanted me to register it again! I found out how to disable that mess.

Anyway, I too give N3V a lot of credit for doing what they can with the minimal tools they have. The spline issue is something they are working on. I got a nice letter from Aron a week or so ago regarding the issue. :)

From ED " I wish Auran would come up with a icon for the Mac users,
that would take care of some of the issues...

From Nikkia " Uh, they did, about a week ago, it says 'TS Mac' "

Good news , does this mean that everyone should now show an icon
for a "legal" copy of Trainz ?

Everyone that has registered, except for the Trainz iPad users - who don't have an icon (but are less likely to be asking about content or technical issues due to the closedness of that version, and the fact that iOS isn't anything like Windows or OSX in terms of getting things working.

FOR ME, guys, T12 is the most stable version of them all -- It crashed only 1 since I got it! The asset rebuilding thing (forgot the name of it) has not been an issue with this version. at all!!! -- Also, huge online gamer here, so the multiplayerr is a huge + ... These good options, plus word of month, has given Auran a step up, I feel!

However, it does need a patch!!:(
