Ramblin' Man..
Can Somebody Help Me?
I Have A 1 Terribite Hard Drive On My Computer. I also have an updated graphics card. It is a 1 gig fram buffer, GT640. And I believe I have 8 gigs of ram. However, when I enter driver in Trainz I move my consist about an inch and then it crashes. Can anyone help me identify the problem?

680 Faulty Assets. I am going to go back and try to fix them
however I do not understand this

it is totally error free and shows up in railyard fine

I keep using the RI SD40 to do my testing, the cab for it had major errors, maybe that is why it keeps crashing.
:o

nope. Yet again my computer crashes from Trainz
I do not know the problem. I guess I will keep fixing or deleting faulty assets. Only thing I can think of is that. If not that, what can it be?

Before you delete stuff, have you tried a database repair? Sometimes the faulty assets aren't really faulty and the database repair will fix them.

Using Content Manager choose Quick Database Repair from the file menu. If this doesn't work, you'll have to run the Extended Database Repair.

it has done about 15 repairs in the past day
and I believe I do. I do not know, I have the one that is free from the site, however I haven't been in Trainz for about a month, did I miss a new one?

I would suggest two things:

1.Run a full view errors and warnings check on the affected assets.
2.Read my texture compression tutorial on how to fix that 'pink asset' issue.

Be aware that the texture compression fix may require you to reinstall assets that are affected by texture compression problems.

The graphics issue may or may not be related. I should have mentioned this before...

Do any other trains look like this with weird textures and lines?

If they do you need to do a couple of things in Content Manager.

1) Go into the file menu and choose settings.
2) Go to MISC and uncheck compression.
3) Hit Save to save your settings.

4) Set your search filters to Location = Local and Built-in = False.
5) Highlight all the assets listed by clicking on the first one and then pressing ctrl+A on your keyboard.
6) Open the assets for edit.
7) Once all your assets are opened, and the birds begin to sing... Wait. That's not what I meant! :) With all the assets still highlighted, press ctrl+E on the keyboard.

If you clicked anywhere, you'll have to reselect them all again in step #2.

8) Press Ctrl+M again to close them.

This will cancel the compression on the assets. Hopefully this will fix the graphics problem. It will not repair actual problems with the assets such as script errors, broken config files, etc.

You may have to reinstall again plus the patches if none of the steps we've given you to repair the problems works. Sometimes this is the fastest approach and it beats fiddle-farting around forever and never getting anywhere because the problems are unrepairable anyway.

I am going to try opening the ones for edit, and commiting them. IF That doesn't work, I will sadly reinstall trainz for the fourth time this week.
