Trainz forum Avatars

Ca Plane Pour Moi
I'm sure this question has been asked time and time again, but I've never stumbled across it; hence why I'm asking, How come we can't have our own custom avatars?

How come we can't have our own custom avatars?
Because it is a setting and on this forum that setting is set to "not allowed".

Seeing how lots of people already have problems keeping the size of their signature image to the maximum allowed dimensions, I am more than happy to live with any of the few dozen avatars one can pick in this forum.

I agree. Whereas signature banners are not restricted in size, beyond an advisory, all the fora I've used have a size limit on avatars, usually being limits on both demensions and file size. The loco in my banner was desinged for use as an avatar though is confined to my banner for the time being.

I know my forum supports custom avatars (and has the feature for it) although it may be a VBulletin-specific issue coupled with the fact that uploaded avatars take up space (although linked ones is a different story).

P.S. klambert - did you see my reply to your latest forum post over on my forum?

I've just checked it now, by the way I've sent you a test PM.

Signature Banner in the trainz forums do have a limit on size and its a strict limit not a advisory read the COC

Apologies, I was a bit ambiguous in my original post. I know the COC states the limit for banner sizes however, it is possible to upload banners well outwith the limits as many have done so in the past.

From memory, there was a time when users could submit avatars to Auran (back then :)) who would check it for suitability to be added to the 'approved' list. Maybe when things are a little less hectic, someone could suggest that could be the case again.

Originally, your avatar depended on the number of posts you made. Oh, the waffling that resulted from that.

I asked via the helpdesk about 2 years ago. The answer was no as I recall. Can't confirm that as the ticket has been deleted.

The Kerbal Space Program forum can seem to accept any size avatar, and it looks like the VBulletin layout.
