I really doubt the loco caused the problem.
If you could provide the details on what error occurred and more details on the error message you are receiving now, we can better help you.
When you are reinstalling, ensure you, I'm not so sure you have to but anyway, are using your exact username you are using now and your same exact password.
With TRS2009, you also have to ensure you are using DirectX and not Open/GL for your display settings in the game settings, otherwise things won't work either if you get that far in your reinstallation.
