Trainz diesels

Lots. Try typing in the various classes in the search box and you'll find them.

eg, Class 37, Class 55, etc.

Hi all.
Does anybody know which modern UK diesels are on the content manager and are able to download?

Assuming we're talking about locomotives, pretty much all of them except for the class 70, class 56 and class 44/45/46.

Of course, 56s aren't really 'modern' (there's none running on the mainline, although if you're modelling somewhere in the last 5 years, they would have been then), and the 44/45/46 were retired long before anyone could even consider drawing the line as to what is 'modern'.

There are payware versions of the 56 (by Railwaves) and peak (2 versions, one with SnC and one from Perchpole).

I don't know of any 70 though.

If we're talking about DMUs, well, there's not so much choice there, there's a good 222 model (that requires some minor changes to make work in native mode/TS12) by peterdhicks, although that's technically a DEMU :). Railwaves have a payware 220 and payware 221.

There's a few 166s, and 158s, they're still 'modern' I guess. Railwaves have a payware 170. Don't think there's anything in the 180 family yet.

Going a bit older, there's plenty of 142s, they're still around the network - saw one trundling out of leeds last friday in fact.

It depends on your definition of modern! For me, it's anything from the 1960's onwards ...

From memory, first generation DMUs such as the 101, 108 and 110 were on the DS for TRS2004, also the single units (eg. 131) as well as one of the German railbuses, plus the one which was two bus bodies joined together (I forget the number.) I certainly downloaded them all but would need to check on my old hard drive to see the variety of liveries available - there was certainly one in South Yorkshire Transport colours.

Quite a good choice - but I haven't yet tried them in TS2010.

That'd be the class 142/141, as I said above, the 142 is still trundling around the network on some of the branch lines, so they most certainly count as 'modern' in spirit.

They are, however, like many of the DMUs on the network, on very borrowed time, as the UK accepted a law back in 1995 that is very similar in principle to the US's ADA law.

Thus the Pacers (141,142,143,44) along with most other DMU/EMUs on the network (and probably most loco-hauled stock too) cannot meet the requirements for wheelchair accessible entries/exits, and will have to be withdrawn before the law ('The Disability Discrimination Act') becomes enforced in 2019.

I've now had a look at the DMUs downloaded onto my old hard disk when I was using TRS2004, and the list is:

Class 101 Blu & Grey
Class 101 Blue
Class 101 Green
Class 105
Class 114 South Yorkshire Transport
Class 117 Rail Regional
Class 117 Blue & Grey
Class 117 Green
Class 117 refurbished
Class 121 Network Southeast
Class 150 Rail Regional
Class 150 Anglia
Class 153 Wessex
Class 156 First North Western
Class 170
Class 313

Plenty of choice there - if they will work in TS2010. I'll try.

I think I collected all that were available at the time, as I've long had a 'thing' for DMUs - with a fair number of units in my railway modelling days.
