Trainz + ATI Eyefinity = W-I-D-E pictures.

Just playing with my new machine and thought I'd post some pics.

This is Trainz 2010 using Eyefinity to spread it across 3 monitors at 4800x1200 resolution. (obviously I've had to re-size the pictures a bit for the forum ;) )

Click the image to open the full-sized version (heavily compressed so they are only 1MB or so)

Anybody else been running Trainz on an Eyefinity setup?

Interesting shots Mike.

I will have an eyefinity capable ATI card tomorrow, but not two monitors of the same size to try it out on. Does it add much to the playing experience?

I notice the large version of the screenshots seem to distort at the very edges - is this a function of the compression process used or is it present in game?

I can say that it certainly adds to the feeling of 'space'. With the longer draw distances of TS2010 and the decision we made to add boards and details further than some thought we should from the track in S&C it gives a wide panorama.

I'm not sure two screens would have quite the same effect as you would have the bezels in the middle, with three you have the main detail in the centre and then your peripheral vision to either side. It certainly makes a difference when the train passing you on the other track seems to go past your ear ;)

The very edges of the images do distort. I think maybe that could be tweaked out by changing some of the field of view settings in Trainz. Didn't really have time to experiment too much.
