I upgraded my version of Tr2009 frombuild 37625 to 40837 then downloaded Settle and Carlisle as an add on.took all day! It installed OK but I am not that impressed. I selected my favourites in railyard but can only get a total list of rolling stock in add train in surveyor. In 2004 you get a green button to select just favourites is, it possible in2009. when downloading in 2004 from download cart and click download all it opens the dreaded contents manager which 2004 doesn,t have, very strange!.I would be grateful for any advice or comments before I uninstall 2009 for the third and last time and stick with 2004. it is reliable, intuitive and it WORKS

Well Beaky I'll try to help. In surveyor after you have choose your favorites in the rolling stock tab there is a green button click on it and your favorites will appear.
Now for down loading something go to the search tab on left side in Content manager open it then click on the arrow a window will open go down to location click on new arrow click on Down load station all the thing that is on the download station will be there. Clicking on the + sign will let you narrow your search. Once you fine the item you want right click on it go up to download left click this will put it in down load station then you click start.
If you don't have your game set to automatic commit then you will need to go to open for edit and if it's in there you will have to commit it by right clicking on the top asset scroll down to select all then hit ctrl + m at the same time they should disappear. It seem lot to do but when you have done it a couple of times it will be easier. Play with the sreach feature and see all it can do for you.

i see no one has answered you so i'll try.
the favorites buttons do not carry into the surveyer.it would be neat if you could disable them like john whelan showed me how to disable the built-in consists.i tried to disable the un favorites and it did't work.
i like you was discouraged with 09 after 04 but i have,struggling,started to figure the new format and when building a route the features are pretty nice.
i haven't given up and i don't beleive i will go back to 04,evien though i still have it installed.

Thanks for reply. I am slowly getting on with 09 surveyor and by using filters can now find the content I want. I have also managed to transfer some content from 04 to 09,and like you I still have 04 installed but am using 09 more now. I have a fast computer but at 79 years of age the computer in my head is getting a bit slow. Thanks,
