Trainz 2009?

Does anyone know how to make Trainz 2009 run faster and will Trainz 2009 still work with the download station with a first class ticket after the close date?

First question:
Get a beter PC.
Close all the other software you are running.
Remove all the malware and viruses.
Do a defrag of your hard disk.

Second question:
Yes, although no new material can be uploaded.

One warning. If you do follow leksie's advice to close/disable your antivirus protection, make sure you also disconnect from the internet.

I would personally advise patching your version if it's lower than 41844 - the relevant patches are at http://www.auran.com/servicepacks/ (you will need the patch that starts with the 5-digit number on the bottom right of your Launcher screen each time.
