Trainz 2009: which version? I'm confused...

Hi all,

I'm thinking of potentially buying Trainz 2009. However, since there are two editions (World Builders & Engineers) I really don't know which one to buy.

Especially since for me it is not clear if one of the two also contains all the features of the other or not. Can someone please help me out here?

I love to both ride and build, I hope that doesn't mean I'd have to buy both, because that would be a bit costly.

That's easy, there is no Engineers Edition and IMHO there never will be.

Would it be advisable at all for someone who owns the 2006 release to get the 2009 in the first place then? I mean, will it mean a downgrade in functionality in any way?

Hi Kivech and welcome.
At the moment there is only one option TS2009 WBE. The other has not come out yet, unless you count the three stand allows, that are out on offer, but I would put these in the category of trainz classics.
I you would like to build your own route then TS2009WBE is the one you want.
The other will have only built in routes, and won't have a surveyor, so you won't be able to build your own.
If ever the EE edition comes out it will bolt on to WBE, (fingers crossed)
