Hello, I was just wondering if Trainz 2006 would run on Vista 64-bit?

Also if so would it run decently on my computer?

My computer - Cyperpower PC -AMD Phenom™ X4 9850 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology - 4 gigs of ram- Windows Vista 64-bit

Yes, 06 will run on Vista 64bit. You don't mention if you have a video card installed. (I think you mentioned in another post that you have a Nvidia 8500GT).
That will run 06, but I personally would recommend that if you can afford to update your video card to something like either a GTX260 - GTX280 (or 4870 x2) your system WILL run TRS2006 & TRS2009 much better...
Cheers, Mac...

Trainz 2006 runs fine on Vista 64 bit!

I'm running Trainz 2006 on Vista 64 bit with an AMD Phenom II X4 940, 8 gigs of RAM, a 512 MB ATI 4850 on a 1680 x 1050 22" monitor, (see my beginning post in "What are your computer specs?" for details) and it runs perfectly fine on all but the most demanding routes like the Darjeeling Himilayan Railway. Except for the rare occasion where I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete exit, I have no problems whatsoever.

So with an AMD Phenom 9850, 4 gigs of RAM, and a (supposed) nVidia 8500 GT, Trainz will run smooth in some places, choppy in others like places that have lots of vegitation or lots of train vehicles. If any suggestion, I would say upgrade the video card to that of at least a 9800 GT. Many of them are below $100 and one will boost Trainz performance significantly. If you can, go for something even better like a 9800 GTX+ or GTS 250 (same graphics chip, just rebranded and with 1 GB memory vs. 512 MB on the 9800 GTX+)

Overall, with the video card upgrade, you will probably be quite happy running Trainz 2006 on 64 bit Vista.

My 2 cents (or paragraphs :D )
Kyle
