Trainz 2004 Helper....help!

Hello,

I have not long got TRS04, and I went to dig up some downloads for it. I was doing it all manually and installing stuff using that Content Dispatcher, and wondered why the stock wasn't showing up, even when i downloaded all required assets.

Then I read a good tool is Trainz Helper, so I got that, installed, went to open it, got the configuration screen, put in username/password, set it to no proxy, it seems to be linked (the Warning you have not signed in thingy message has gone) so I went to the DLS, found the Class 40 for TRS04, went to Download Helper, opened it via Trainz Helper, and i get the config screen...So it looked ok and clicked on save (I had already done that in the first place) and thats it...I never see anything else of Trainz Helper, Im back to the desktop.

How does this little tool work :S

I only have TRS04 and TC3, and the path is set to the 04 folder...


Any help will be MUCH appretiated, as I cannot download or use a thing at the moment

When you go to the DLS and find the item you require Click on Download (helper) and helper should then open, download and install that item automatically
Trust this is the info you require

Hi You have not said what build you are at for TRS04?
When you said in your thread that you had installed the helper?
Even the basic build of 04 has a helper if you mean that you downloaded the latest helper and you are at the basic build then you should be ok .
But if you are at the final build which comes with the latest helper and you then installed this one over the top of that then that will be your problem.
When you click onto the 04 icon on your desktop you should have first gone to Configure Trainz and put in your username and password.
I am giving you some things to do to see if this can be resolved simply.
Go to (default location) My computer Local drive program files Auran TRS2004 and open that folder next locate and open the Bin folder.
In there locate the TrainzHelper mfu application and double left click to open.
The configuration page will now open, the Trainz product on the top line will show you TRS2004 and the build no, mine is TRS2004 (2365)
under that will be the path this will show where the downloads will be saved to, default should say C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004.
Below this you will see Edit login details click onto the edit password box a new page will open
Remove then retype in your username and password and make sure you have the use Internet explorer options selected then click ok and then click on save.
Go to your profile at the top of the forum page and click on edit password, a new page will open and you will see your existing password.
You can keep this password retype it into the top box and confirm in the next box down then save
This will cause the helper to be reset and my solve your problem.
Now you say that you have the set the path to 04 however you also have TC3 which means that if you run TC3 or open the advanced utilities =CMP when you click on the helper to download an item the TC3 CMP helper will open instead of 04 .
You need to open the main TRS2004 folder open the Bin folder locate the TrainzHelper mfu application then right click and select send to desktop create shortcut.
Then before you go to the D/S =download station double left click on your desktop shortcut to open then click on save to close.
You can now open your browser and when you select a file to download the 04 helper should open and download to 04
Please note each time you run TC3 it will take over the downloading so if you want your content to download to 04 you need to open and close the helper shortcut before opening your browser.
