I just made a simple route, to make a timetable for it, then add on more track gradually.
At the moment it is 3 stations, double track. There are points at each terminus station. All stations are 2 track island platforms. A train starts at each terminus station, and 2 start, in opposite directions, at the middle station. Each station is 2900 metres apart, so the idea is that the trains will arrive at the centre one at the same time.
Track 1 is platform 1's, and track 2 is all platform 2's.
Train D from Middle station heads on track 1 towards South station, to arrive in platform 2, which has been vacated by train A. Platform 1 is empty.
The train navigates to South platform 2, loads, and waits 10 seconds. It its next stop is Middle platform 2. It leaves platform 2, heading on track 2, towards a green signal. As it approaches the signal, it is travelling in reverse. It stops short of the signal, and starts driving forward, with the points having been switched to platform 1. It heads back towards South platform 1. Train C approaches from the North, heading for Platform 1. Both trains stop. A message tells me that train D cannot switch junction 22.
The setup at South station:
P1 South Station P2
Junction 22 Junction 19
Junction 21 Junction 20
Junction 20 and 22 are linked, as is 21 and 19.
Train C messages saying it cannot proceed as the block is occupied. Train D sits for a moment, before it starts driving in reverse, back over junction 20, leaving junction 22 aligned with track 1. Train D reaches the speed limit, 120, and drives to Middle, platform 2. Train C enters platform 1.
At Middle station, train B is arriving at the same time as train C. As the stations are the same distance apart, using the same trains, then the same thing must have been happening at North Station, however I recived no messages from Trains A or B. Upon watching all 4 trains i see the same thing is happening at both stations, each time.
So, what is going on with the trains? Is there a way to fix this without changing track or platforms that trains arrive from, as I plan on adding in trains E and F, to make every platform full when the driver mode starts.
