Train Schedule Library Questions

I,m working on a session for the ECML and have a couple of questions. Can I write a list of drivers commands for the Schedule Library in Surveyor, Route or does it have to be in "Session" And a follow on question... Can I transfer a schedule in the library to a different session? Thanks in advance.

The schedule library is a rule and as far as I know, alll rules are saved in the session layer.

The only way to utilise a schedule library in multiple sessions is to clone the session using save as ... and saving to another session.

If the target session has already been created then it will be necessary to copy down the commands on paper and enter them into the desired session.

The rule and commands together with trains and drivers are in the session. You can open any session, change all that needs to be changed and then save it under a different name. Only save the session under a different name not the route.

So, at this point I have to ask this: It makes sense that all the commands, schedules, etc. are exclusive of sessions. But if you set your points to be all synchronized with the multiple junction controllers, they are also exclusive to sessions. I feel that these should be made to be part of the route. If you make a "new session", you have to re-do every single one. I have over 500 hundred points most in complex settings. The last time I had to re-install the program, I had to start all over again. Even doing the copy and paste of the local folder it took me over a week to set everything again, as many of the script of points settings was not operational. Probably if they would have been part of a route, they would have survived the copy and paste process better. This is an old topic, but with all the "new" versions of our simulator, you would think NV3 would have looked in to it, yes?

Life is very strange Llebrez. I have just finished responding to one of your posts in another thread only to find you have just responded to one of mine, Your problem is actually very similar to mine, except mine involves writing train schedules. I,m not very patient and I,m modifying the ECML. I,m actually changing very little except for the red trackmarks and the speed limits and a few other bits and pieces. Anyway I have now completed Kings Cross to the Stamford turn north of Peterborough and am now creating a session. This essentially involves dispatching trains from Kings Cross by giving the AI driver it,s schedule so it leaves at the correct time. I have to write about 8 schedules which will take quite a long time. So I don.t want to modify a further section and have to completely rewrite the schedules. You ought to be able to place a completed schedule in a central library and "import" it to another, modified, session for editing.

An old session cant be copied or cloned to a map that has had alterations made to any part of the track. This includes all industry, signals, triggers and TM's. The session records the location of all this so it can place trains in the correct location. You dont need to redo all the work again, once you have a session, open that session for edit then do any alterations to the route and then save them. If you want a new session again open from edit session and then save as and keep the same route name but give the session a new name. By doing edits from the edit session means that the session will be compatable with the altered route.

Colourlight. Perhaps you could do a base session . I think I'm moving along the same lines as stgecoach.
In your base session/s you could have a variety of commands to choose from. It would be tedious to set up but once done, new sessions renamed would be possible. Am I explaining this right? mayby?
