Train jumps stop & ends up in toilets

I saw this on the news tonight. All I have to say is: "Next time, take the train!"

I also have to say that they just need to drag the train out, re-rail it, rebuild the damaged parts of the station and continue as if nothing happened. And maybe do a spot of panel-beating on the lead unit. :)

As the saying goes...."When you gotta go, you just gotta go!"
That thought sprung to my warped mind.
Quote the news report
"and the stricken train failed to stop at some stations earlier on its route."

Strange the driver carried on isn't it.

It could support a theory (mine!) that the driver may well have been caught short, had rushed to the on board carriage lavatory, and spent longer there than he should.

Still, I suppose we shouldn’t get too “bogged” down with conjecture.:D

Puts a new twist on the advert "let the train take the strain".
Re conjecture, the station certainly had more "disabled toilets" than your average.

Heard over the PA system at the previous station (Ormiston), "Next stop Stradbroke Island"

For those unfamiliar with Brisbane, Australia, Cleveland, where the train derailed, is the last stop on the line. From Cleveland, you can take a ferry or car barge to Stradbroke Island, which forms the eastern side of Moreton Bay.

So much for the design of train stops.

Cleveland is my local station - when I am on the mainland. The stops (buffers) looked huge. Concrete block with collapsible/de-forming front end.
This train-set is of the latest design, and it rode up over the stop, and onto the station concourse before hitting the ticket office and toilet area.
May be a design flaw with either the front end of the power unit, or the stops. They certainly do not appear to be compatible with each other.

Wonder if it was the Driver or the Train who was busting to go.
They visited both the mens & ladies in a hurry

Funny how our Aussie trains seem to have some of the same problems as some Train Simulator Games when it comes to following rules.

Makes you wonder if the game is based on real life operations
or
Real life operations are based on a simulation.
