Train Crashes?

In Trainz 2010, I was running a session I had created from scratch. I clicked the pause button to take a break. When I unpaused the game, I get a message saying a train has derailed.
I go to a nearby portal, and notice a derailment inside using the mini map view. I had a similar problem in TRS 2004 when saving a session would derail a portal train upon loading the session.
It didn't matter if the ai train was entering or exiting the portal, it would still derail.

Are there any fixes to this? It's very annoying. :o

I always save a session twice a few minutes apart. Any save with a train entering/exiting a portal is not going to work when re-loaded. Saving twice is a pain, but a busted session 18 hours in is a bigger pain! To save myself I cannot see that a dialogue box suggesting waiting (countdown) seconds before saving would kill the programming budget, but we've waited a long long time for this to be fixed....

I have a few workarounds to this, but I was just curious if there were any fixes by Auran or third party. The portal consumption/production process shouldn't derail a train just because I save or pause the game.
You would think that this problem would be fixed by now since it has existed in TRS 2004. :(
