Track became a road

~snip~ You are just lucky or don't know your splines are infected and not see it yet.
Yes 100% sure TRS2004 has the spline bug probably from the very beginning.

Try use Ctrl Z after smooth ~snip~
Before I try it, what does Ctrl-Z do? I'm reluctant to experiment for fear of waking up some dormant monstrosity which may be silently buried deep within hard drive lurking amongst the Auran code, just waiting to pounce!

An update. Found some more but this latest is a pain. It's identified as a missing spline. Duh, no kidding. Which one? Previous to switching over to a new computer it was JR track, what you see in the screenshot, but now it's a dashed line of a missing spline. This is what Roy has been referring to. I can't delete it or move it. I can attach most tracks and bridges to it but that's all I can do. I've tried everything that I can think of to get rid of it but I'm at a lost. Any suggestions?

Hi all. I have just had some of this. It is a strange bug and manifests itself in a number of ways. I did all the usual delete routines and nothing worked. Neither could I move the splines BUT I could add more track. Just as was described here in the posts. In desperation I decided to save the route and session under another name and mess with that. What I did then was merge the session with the route and back again. NOTHING. Exit and reload the route. SOMETHING. I found that I could delete all the white lines using the track deletion and nothing else worked. All the splines of fence or grass and and anything else you can think of only deletes on the track tab. It would look like the white lines are in another layer which is why they will not normally delete as you would expect. They may be under the famous "hidden layer" but I don't think so. I would only suggest you play around with this in a clone or copy of your route.

Regards Doug

Thanks for the suggestions Doug. I saved the route under a new name and proceeded to mess around with that dam missing spline with no luck. I got so frustrated I started working on a different route. Not sure when I'll get back to it. I guess I'll have to figure out a work around the dam thing.

try insert spline point, move segment and delete if works

Harry,

morning, still have a big(very tired) hangover form the sp1 fallout but make it all work and admit things really pretty well and the DRIVER is a must have for all Roy's trainz users the route is way better smoother, no not the distance redraw lock that is still there but have a feeling they might give up on that "Berlin wall" thing for cheap computer.

Ok try following as the missing spline is still a major issue for any trainz version when it change things into track or just track to missing spline. Try to put a spline point...and see if you now can move than delete that segment by segment.....
I know delete missing assets will not help or does it?
I see if I find missing one's in my route after the hotfix 2 and keep you posted ok?

have a great day

Roy

ctrl Z is the hot key for undo and does did the damage to splines of all sorts. The ugly thing is you probably will not see it for a very long time and than it shows so unexpected and nothing you can do it is in there somewhere.....

Hi Roy, hope your health is better. Sometimes the obvious is staring you in the face and you don't see it. I never thought of delete missing assets. Well, it worked. What a relief, now I can continue with the route. Thanks everyone for replying.

Harry,

dear friend.....pop pop my health you think its a trainz bug bugging me for almost one year now? lol.... still working on it but the 2 weeks sp1 and sorts of things took its toll on my health yep.... have to slow down but that is easier said than done.

Good the delete missing assets works for you. also do not forget insert spline does the trick many times on missing tracks before it reckon them and when you can move them you can than delete them....
Happy it works for you now.

Roy

A while back I had this same problem. After 2 pages of suggestions nothing worked. You are lucky that deleting missing assets solved your problem. Mine is still there and I challenge N3V people to solve the problem...

Train:Screw the rails! I'm going off road!
Everyone else:NOOO!!
(I love making invisible tracks on roads and stuff, it makes Trainz much more fun :3)

Or, if you want to make A flying Train(Or plane if you have a Douglas DC-3 or something) just use Invisible track again!(I suggest MANS Invisible Track as you can see where it is with a red line)

A long time ago, I made the ICE fly around Germany(Literally) :3

Also, there is such a thing as a Road Train.

Search Youtube, and search LARS Cattle Trailer, it says "Road Train" on the back and has tires.
