Tpis and Tricks when driving steam locomotives in cab mode.

Hi guys, I don't see a thread anywhere for this so how about we start one here. If it is in the wrong place - sorry.
I am open to correction anytime - Trainz is a fun and learn game for all anyway .
I have learnt stacks of things whilst driving in cab mode, here are a few:
-When the fire starts glowing dull cherry red it is time to shovel coal. Don't go mad, little at a time. The fire will glow white hot, then it is doing it's best. The blower has an effect on this too, sometimes the fire stays dull, open the blower and there you go.
- Most trainz original sessions have got it worked out ok (I think ) but If your load or your hand is too heavy for the type of locomotive in your session you have created or modified in surveyor, you will not be able to maintain steam pressure and run out of coal and water, or be forced to make a non-sheduled stop on the route to build up steam again. Place steam filling stations and water towers strategically on the route ( summits ? ) .No need to go tearing along at full throttle and 75% cut-off to stay to the speed limit, it is better to learn nurse the loco . Rather also add another loco or place helper locos somewhere , but remember each loco of the consist requires personal attention to keep up the steam pressure. Most locos like to be above 200PSI .
- With the modern cab controls ( the bars at the right bottom of the screen ) some features like the reversor and the fire box door will not operate with the mouse pointer but might with the keyboard or the bars.
- One can play with the physics like wheelsip and coupler break values in surveyor to make things a bit easier but they are set quite realistically I think.
- Like in real life most types of locomotives have their own character - to be learnt.
- Don't be like me who waits till the smoke comes out of something before I read the manual, read the available literature about steam in the game.

I am sure the guys can add much more for us to learn.
