Prayers and condolences to the people of Norway.

Tragic explosion in downtown Oslo.

News reports here in the USA saying that 20~25 children aged 14 to 19 killed at a camp.

Please accept our sympathies.

With great sorrow,
Ron

Sympathies from here as well.
Terrible thing and the last place you'd expect anything like terrorism.

BBC has just said it's 9 or 10 at the camp but nothings really been confirmed, from the helicopter shots, it's a very very small island, the camp was for teenagers up to 25 year olds, apparently some were swimming to safety, no where else to go I guess, must have been a nightmare for them.

This was a shock to all of us here in Norway as many of us thought we lived in a safe haven. I remember the 1011 attack on the US and all of us here in Norway felt sympathy with the people hit by the terrorist attack.

I have been watching the news channels all evening and there has been shooting at a inland island as well and the police said the bomb blast in Oslo and this shooting may have links.

2 years ago, I was working as a truck driver and my route went by very close to this island and I could see it from my truck window approx. 1-2 km away from the main road I used to drive. I drived this route 5 days a week and it's hard to imagine that 20 or more people have been shot dead this evening.

The distance from the island to shore is 550 meters, but the water temperature at this time is quite good approx. 18-20 d. celsius.

(news in English)

So now the terror has reached Norway as well but I know many people here in Norway have had concerns about the growing threat. there is a joke that say that the only safe place in Oslo is the US embassy... well, there is a lot of truth in that joke as no building where protected against bomb blasts. I guess this is about to change now as glass particles is one of the most dangerous threats in a bomb blast.

I really feel sorry for the parents missing their young children...

from my wife and myself our sympathies and thoughts go out to the families of those who are bereaved and also our hopes for the full recovery of those who have been injured in these terrible atrocities.

One can only wonder at the depths of depravity of those who have committed these acts not only in the bombing of Oslo but also in the shooting of children and young people who have had no say or involvement in the world that these sub humans so despise.

Perhaps one day those who have committed these barbaric acts will be brought to justice and that they and whatever cause or religion these atrocities where committed in the name of will be totally crushed in the way that they and it deserve to be.

Again, all our sympathies

Bill

My thoughts are with the People of Norway following these two atrocities. Condolences to those who have lost loved ones.
