what you have to remember with TRS2006 and TS2009 is that they need a long time to tidy up the data when you save and exit the game, if you switch off the computer before it has finished you will corrupt the saved game and sometimes the whole game so long as you wait for TADDaemon to finish you should be alright.
Don't worry Zapata935, we have all done what you did, but you will remember next time, not to shut down your computer too quick.
As a tip to remember...
After Trainz has closed, I usually press three keys at the same time, CTRL, ALT and DELETE, and a box will pop up, look for TADeamon in the list, wait for that to disappear, DO NOT force it to close, as this can damage your Trainz installation, and it can lose or corrupt your saved route, it only takes about 30 to 50 seconds to vanish, but once it vanishes, it is then safe to close your computer.
Do this same precedure everytime you have have used Trainz, this can help Trainz run smoother and faster in the future.

PS, wait till it comes to a time, when you have Trainz 2010/2012, when you merge your layers together, and you think that you have saved your route, and then you exit Trainz, and then you go... NOOOOOOOOOO, I forgot to save it... lol... I have done that too, a couple of times...

There's no need to Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Just open the Options page on your start-up screen, Click on the Developer tab and put a check mark in 'Show Database Process Windows'. Then you will have Taddaemon showing on your taskbar whilst it is running - when it disappears you can safely shut down your computer.

Another thing to make sure is that you are running Trainz as administrator if using Windows Vista or later. This is important to prevent saving issues.
