To Lance and Alan

To Alan and Lance, many thanks for all your help over the past years. You have helped so many members both old and new on the forums through some difficult "Trainz" times and now you are in need of help and support.

From all the threads on the forum of the current problems with Auran I think you have both been offered every bit of support from around the world that our Trainz Community can provide.

You both deserve ALL that support as a mark of respect to your dedication of your years of work both as employees and previous Trainz "Gamers" (if that is the correct word).

Your help, support and dedication has been most appreciated.

Craig

;) Lance is on-line and reading right now.

My best wishes to you and family, my friend. I've sent you a personal e-mail.

Take care,

Have been reading a number of threads regarding the events of the past week and I too would like to wish Lance, Alan and the remainder of the Trainz team all the best.

I have known Lance personally for a number of years, having met him through monthly Trainz get-togethers right here in Brisbane. To me, Lance has always been the face behind Auran and I have always found him to be an approachable, friendly, helpful and "nothing's too much trouble" kind of guy. I feel that through Auran's actions they have lost an extremely valuable member of their team, as he was always willing to promote their product both here and abroad, and to help people out wherever he could. I know this will be a difficult time for him and his family, especially so close to Christmas, and do sincerely want to wish him and everyone else involved with this sad turn of events all the best for the future.

While I can't condone what Auran have done, I am hopeful that Trainz will continue, that the community spirit surrounding it won't die and we'll continue to see Lance's smiling face at our monthly catch-up's too.

All the best.

Cheers - Brian

Lance, Alan,

If you get tired of hanging with Ed in Chicago, don't forget your pals at the Den household in Cleveland Ohio.

Plenty of pizza, beer, and lampshades for all who stop by ;)

Lance, I will miss seeing you at the NMRA shows, it was always a good time during and after the shows, having the group meet for a bit of food, spirits, and just enjoying the moment.

Alan, regretfully I never got to meet you in person, but I will miss your presence in the chat room, you were always there if I had a question or needed someone to laugh at my stupid jokes :)

Guess I can only say to Lance, Alan and Rob is....Thank you for all that you have done for the Trainz Community.

Wishing you all the best during these difficult times.

Good luck and God speed.

Regards,
Ron

Hey Everyone,

'UTC' was the first copy of TRS that I bought, many moons ago in my local games store. As much as I enjoyed 'driver', 'Surveyor' was my addiction.:D To be a big TRS fan and then get the opportunity to work at Auran with the Trainz team has been a tremendously enjoyable opportunity. I have seen the inner workings of my favourite toy and learnt many of its secrets and strengths. Working and helping the community has been a privilege.

Personally, I am taking this opportunity to go back to Sydney and pursue other Goals in life all the richer for having worked in Brisbane. I wish the current Trainz Team the best of success with the future of Trainz.

I wish everyone a very Happy Holiday Season.:)

All the Best, Lance and Alan - indeed to all the displaced workers from Auran! Let's hope your setback is very temporary!

Ditto to all of the above posts, except I won't wish you blessings or God's Speed (whatever that is) etc because I'm not religious. However, you get the idea. Alan and Lance were the human face of Auran as far as I was concerned.

Has been said above... If any of you need any references from any of us, just ask. We hope to know how you do in the future. Do not disconnect...

Dear Lance and Alan,

You have my eternal gratitude for helping me setup TRS2004 to a functional state, and for the ongoing support thereafter. With this software I have spent innumerable hours simply playing trains and reliving my childhood, and also creating my own layouts (Valleyfields on DLS).

My background in "playing" was with OO/HO models but, as my sight has deteriorated, modelling has become a very arduos and frustrating task. Trainz means that I can install working signals without trying to connect tiny wires; can get smoke out of a steam loco without complaints about the smell; can get a huge range of appropriate rolling stock without spending my pension; can even ride in the cabs - Try and do that in OO/HO!

On behalf of the many "less vocal" but no doubt equally appreciative Trainz users, I wish you all the very best and sincerely trust that you will both be reviewing attractive job offers in the very near future.

Thanks so much for everything guys. Take care.

Colin.

I also would like to wish Lance and Alan the best of luck in their future and thank them for all of their efforts for the Trainz community. They obviously had a passion for the sim and didn't just look at it as a job.
I have confidence that we will be seeing good things from both of them in the future.
